Entering the apartment, the marble floors are striking. In the spacious living room, open the doors to the balcony and soak in the mountain view and look south to the sea. Sunsets are a special time as the sunlight changes the scene. There are two spacious bedrooms, both with lovely views. Excellent cross-ventilation takes advantage of the fresh mountain & sea air. The bedrooms and living room fill with light during the day. There is a full kitchen with all dishes and utensils, bathroom with American-style shower, washer, & linens are provided. After a day in the town or at the beach, come back to the comfortable home. After relaxing, a short stroll to a family-owned restaurant completes the day. There are many beaches in the area and the small jewel, Portofino, is 3 miles away. The mountains have many hiking trails, with spectacular views. A special daytrip to the Cinque Terre is very easy from the town train station. Lake Como, Pisa, Venice, Florence, & Nice are reached in hours.

Central Location in Gorgeous Santa Margherita. Santa Margherita is a postcard beautiful town. The crystal-blue Mediterranean waters are highlighted by the surrounding mountains. Between the two are the many-colored buildings of the town and fishing vessels and pleasure boats complete the scene. A very prosperous town, it is easily reached from the nearby cities of Genoa and Milan. Santa Margherita has a unique charm. Our apartment gives the opportunity to enjoy all of it, with access to many other wonderful areas of Italy

We stayed in this apartment in SML for 2 weeks in July 2009 (2 adults and 2 kids – teen and 9). The apartment was exactly as described and seen on pictures: clean, spacious and well appointed. There are views of mountains from every window and from the balcony one can the sea in a distance. It is very centrally located, close to all necessities (groceries stores, restaurants) and easy approx.10 min walk to the town’s beach. The owners provide very good information with regards to activities, places to eat, places to avoid etc. Would recommend.

A lovely place to stay

We had a great time in this spacious, centrally located apt. The owners were incredibly helpful in planning our trip and going out of their way to give us lots of information. Their suggestions about local restaurants and activities are great. There's no nicer town to stay in than Santa Margherita - and staying in this location, away from the more touristy harbor area - lets you know what it's like to live with the locals. The local shops for fresh fish, fruit, bread, pasta etc are fantastic and help you understand the italian culture. A great place to stay!

We stayed 10 days in the fall of 2008 and very very pleased. The apt. was comfortable and clean. The location was superb. Plan on doing it again.

We so enjoyed our stay in this beautifully decorated and situated apartment. The views are spectacular. The apartment is extremely convenient for all amenities. Santa Margherita is charming and interesting. Excursions by boat or train are easy and rewarding. The recommendations for restaurants, delicatessens and bakeries are spot on. The local neighbourhood, San Sirio, down the steps is different and fascinating.

Having visited other neighboring towns along the coast including Portofino, this town offers the best overall upscale experience – shops, restaurants, cafes, nightlife, beaches. The rental location is ideal, offering picturesque views of both mountain and sea. One feels at home in the freshly decorated interior offering Italian charm and every modern convenience—even an American coffee maker! If you follow the owner’s many recommendations on where to eat, sun and shop, you will not be disappointed. It is a true find in an idyllic setting!
