Having lived in the Asheville area for 19 years, we have a deep love and respect for the natural environment as well as the cultural opportunities found in this region of the Appalachian mountains.
The Owner purchased this house in 2008
When the 3 private acres adjacent to our 15 acres became available, we knew that would be the perfect place to build a vacation home for our extended families. As they are scattered around the world, it was important for us to offer a place that was near by, but afforded them the privacy they need and deserve. We soon realized this would also be a great place to offer as a vaction rental.
In this busy world, this is a unique opportunity to experience TOTAL privacy. One of the things we love about the cottage is sitting on the covered deck, looking out into the woods, and listening to the sounds of nature. It's also great to drive into Weaverville, about 5 minutes away, grab a pastry or two at the world's BEST bakery, and come back and relax on the patio or in the hot tub on the deck.
Thank you so much for letting us stay at the cottage! We had a wonderful time! Everything was so clean and organized and the secluded location made it so easy to relax! We had a great time visiting the sites around Asheville.
We definitely will be back around our anniversary! We loved staying here. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
My fiancée and I had an amazing weekend here in October. The view is gorgeous, and the deck made for really nice star gazing from the cozy hot tub. The house was immaculate, everything was as advertised.
The customer service was top notch. Susan helped me make it a very romantic experience for my fiancée. This is actually where we got engaged. The entire weekend was perfect, I really can't recommend this place highly enough. We are definitely planning on returning here in the future.
My boyfriend and I decided to stay in the cottage for a romantic getaway and we absolutely loved it. The cottage is close enough to the downtown that we were able to get there within 15 minutes and pretty easily once you figure out the route the first time.
The cottage itself is immaculately clean and very cozy for a romantic getaway. The jacuzzi is locate on an upper deck that is raised right above the treeline, giving you a great view. We loved hanging out in that jacuzzi. The kicthen is also stocked with supplies and dishes, so we were able to cook dinner together the first night. Bed was comfortable and the shower was really nice.
We loved staying here and would like to stay here again the next time we visit Asheville. I recommend this cottage to visitors looking for a more secluded vacation, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.
This place is amazing. Close to downtown but far enough to feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. Great hot tub to enjoy a relaxing night on the deck. You can hear the river, which makes it even better. The owner and property manager are responsive and accommodating. Pretty comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. Great place.
My husband, my English bulldog, and I truly enjoyed our stay here. The pictures don't do it justice. The cottage was extremely clean and had everything we needed. It was very private exactly as we wanted. The drive up to the cabin was steep and made us nervous but thankfully the owner was nearby & was helpful. Cottage is very close to the French broad river and we enjoyed visiting it several times. The hot tub was very relaxing. Even caught some shooting stars while on the back deck at night. Cottage was very close to Asheville and Weaverville. Had a great stay!
Only minutes away from Asheville but a private mountain retreat. If you want to be away from it all but still have the convenience of great restaurants and activities near by then this is the place for you. It was very clean and well appointed just as advertised. Will definitely stay here next time we visit Asheville.
We stayed here for a long weekend and had an excellent experience. The manager and owner were very helpful. The cottage itself is nice, newer construction, well maintained, clean and nicely furnished. Plenty of dishes, silverware and cookware for a family of 4 to eat several meals. The setting is very secluded. You don't see anyone and it is very quiet. The road up to the cottage is good, it is gravel on dirt, but it is steep. Keep up your speed if using front wheel drive, or use 4 wheel drive. The first time up, unsure where we were going, we slowed down too much and got stuck. The owner came promptly and rescued us, driving it easily for us. Once we knew to keep up the speed, we had no issues, even with some rain. The hot tub was a nice touch after kayaking on the French Broad River. We went to Asheville several times and the trip was an easy one and scenic. We would look forward to staying here again if we get the chance.
