Further details for this vacation apartment rental in Quebec City, Quebec

Seasonal Attractions:: This apartment is located in one of Quebec’s prime location, surrounded by the Notre-Dame Basilica-Cathedral of Québec, famous Museums, fine dinning, fabulous antiquing, shopping, cultural events, sidewalk Cafés and street entertainers and painters . Throughout the summer the city overflows with window boxes and hanging flower baskets and fun activities and festivals such as Festivale de la Nouvelle France and the Festivale d’ete. Over 500 shows and street entertainment are held within feet of this superb apartment. For winter and ski get-away, this condominium home is an ideal balance between close-by world class ski destinations like Mount St. Anne and Stoneham and great in-town night life ...for a truly French/European Christmas season, reserve this special home in December and have a magical holiday. Or join in Québec's famous Winter Carnival festivities (February); the biggest winter carnival in the world. Most events are right in the neighbourhood.

Christmas in Quebec City: The Québec City area is the ideal place to spend the holidays. After all, it's got everything: abundant snow, carolers, sleigh rides, Christmas trees, Nativity scenes, and Midnight mass. Just like in our childhood storybooks, when our parents read to us in front of a warm fire. Throughout the city, trees, homes, storefronts, and office buildings are decorated and lit for the Christmas season. Smiles are bigger, arms open wider, and the snow gives everyone the luxury of a beautiful white carpet on Christmas Eve. But there’s more to enjoy in Québec City at this time of the year. With its enchanting boutiques (and in particular its 1,000 boutiques in five large shopping centers), its special events, and the Christmas exhibitions set up by many museums, kids as well as adults will be delighted. Some of the more notable activities throughout the month long celebration include a fashion show, carriage rides, an elf parade and swarms of carolers.

Winter Carnival : January 29 2010 - February 14 2010 For over 50 years, the biggest winter carnival in the world has been celebrating the joys and magic of winter. Experience the thrills and emotions with your family by taking part in a variety of winter activities: snow rafting, horse-drawn sleigh rides, dogsledding rides, children's village and much more. Come to the splendid palace in the heart of Old Québec and say 'bonjour' to the king of the festival, Bonhomme Carnaval. Let yourself be carried away by the whirlwind of renowned events, such as the canoe race on the icy St. Lawrence River, the International Snow Sculpture Competition, and the magical night parades.

Ski: Mont-Sainte-Anne : located only 30 minutes away from beautiful Quebec City, who has just celebrated its 400th anniversary, and the only conclusion one may come to is that Mont-Sainte-Anne is the ultimate ski destination in North America. It provides incredible snow conditions and proudly displays an impressive trail network across three sides of the mountain. Stoneham: located only 20 minutes away from Quebec City, Stoneham is without a doubt THE ski destination of your winter . Those on the lookout for action will have only one place to go: Stoneham Mountain Resort! Great snow conditions, a trail network that spreads over 4 mountains.

Great Rental!

Little Davey Evanston, IL
Review Submitted: October 6, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
My wife and I loved staying in this condo. Quebec has many fine restaurants and we went for many long walks. Everything is near the condo and you will not need a car. The condo looks even better in person than it does in the photos. The kitchen and bathroom are modern and clean, and the unit has a washer and dryer. We look forward to staying there again.

Family Vacation Summer 2009

Lorignaux Fairfax Station, VA, USA
Review Submitted: September 9, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
The property is ideally situated for seeing the sites in old Quebec and in the surrounding vicinity. It is the perfect space for a family of four and has all of the comforts of home.

We used the property as a base camp for activities outside of the city, such as moose watching in Jacques Cartier national park and whale watching in Baie Ste. Catherine. Although we spent most of our days out of the city, our boys couldn't wait to go out in the evenings to see the sights at night and to ride the funiculaire.

The owners were very responsive to our e-mails. We would definitely stay there again.

All you need right where you need it

Review Submitted: August 13, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We stayed in this condo at the end of July, 4 adults and one toddler, and had a fantastic time. Condo was easy to find in an incredible central location. There is a public parking garage just across the street and horse&carriage rides passing by every minute to let you see the city from a different angle! The condo is complete as far as kitchen stuff, -we cooked dinners a few nights and splurged at a gourmet restaurant right next door our last night there. There are two small convenience stores in walking distance a few blocks where you find most of what you need, and then there is Paillard for fresh croissants and other yummy pastries every morning, -take out or eat in. The owners also supply some coffee/tea as well as all the dry spices you could need for your cooking. The bathroom is large and beautifully renovated, -comes with plenty of clean towels, shampoo/soap.
We are already looking forward to coming back to Quebec and hope this condo will be available for us to rent!

Wonderful for a family

Review Submitted: August 4, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Travelled to Quebec City with 4 year old and 7 year old children. Perfect location. On the horse carriage route, so that the children could hear a horse coming, run to the window and check out which of their horse friends was coming by. Apartment exceptionally clean, all logistics were flawless, owner responded quickly to pre booking e-mail inquiries, called after our arrival to be sure we were settled. Keys were easily available just as described. Deposit refunded promptly.

Kitchen is very well equipped, the outdoor grill is electric (we didn't actually use it). Queen size bed is very firm, twin mattresses are a bit soft. The town parking lot across the street had in and out privileges on my 6 day pass for ~$60. A few street parking spaces are out front to unload upon arrival, you'll end up either needing to go around a long block due to one way streets, or backing up to get to the underground parking entrance ramp. I would suggest grocery shopping before arrival because stores within walking distance are expensive and have limited selection, and once you arrive, you won't want to leave! A central location, but quiet at night. There were some hot and humid days on our July trip, but the apartment was comfortable, fans provided / no ac, probably the stone walls retained the coolness. The apartment is on the second floor, in the European sense, up 2 flights of stairs. The bathroom is large, and has a tub/shower and separate shower, so that you could have 2 showering at one time. All of the furnishings, kitchen appliances, kitchen counters, light fixtures etc. are high quality. Comfortable, livable, and elegant.

There are free small electric buses that stop 1/2 block away and make a loop of the major tourist sites. We loved the Cirque de Soleil free performance underneath the highway freeway. If you have young kids, there is a playground near where St Ann ends at the city wall to the east/south (right beyond the horse parking lot) that we wish we'd found earlier in the week. Has a shallow wading pool. We enjoyed the Odyssey show at the Plains of Abraham musuem. The kids loved the street performers, at two nearby locations (outside Notre Dame and Chateau Fronebac) starting every afternoon at around 2 pm, going late into the night. Adults found the performance a bit pedestrian with a few too many flaming juggling pins and raunchy jokes. . . . restaurants in the neighborhood were quite pricey. Concierge at next door hotel helpful

Great first time in Old Quebec

CT Family of 3 Waterford, Ct USA
Review Submitted: July 12, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
In spite of the rain, we had a great time in Old Quebec and our stay at this property. The location could not be better! And though it is in the middle of everything, it was quiet, comfortable and easy to get back to for a rest. The description was completely accurate and the property was clean, well maintained, and nicely appointed. There are dozens of restaurants within a one block radius, but the kitchen in the condo is very helpful to reduce the expense of eating out, which can be significant. The location places you at the doorstep to all of the abundant sightseeing, entertainment, dining, and shopping that Old Quebec has to offer while affording a family the comfort and privacy that you won't find in a hotel. We highly recommend both Old Quebec and "Le Condo de Ste-Anne."
