London Convenience Without London Prices + free WiFi

My wife and I stayed here in July of 2012 and could not have been more pleased.

The apartment is a 4 minute walk and a 17 minute train ride into London, Victoria Station. This was a great time to get organized at the start of a day or read the paper on the train ride home each day.

We were able to buy groceries at a local store and ate breakfast in the apartment each morning before we left. The local town was great for evening walks, eating out, ordering in, and experiencing a suburb of London.

The owner provides a guide with every ounce of information an individual could need. We would stay here again in a second!

ALMOST TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!!! BUT IT IS!!!
We fell in love with our home away from home right from the beginning. Everything in the flat was just perfect - very clean, neat, modern and serviceable. Ken and Annie are the perfect host and hostess. They somehow ENSURED that our stay was most pleasant - from almost 5000 miles away! Ken had prepared what he calls a "Flat Guide" but it was much more than that. He has written a book on how to do things in the flat as well as in England with many many tips and ideas that were most helpful. And if you can't find it in the flat guide, a quick e-mail to Ken or Annie will result in a rapid reply that answers the question.

The flat is perfectly situated. It is only a 20 min train ride from Victoria station (near Buckingham Palace) and one can proceed from there to anywhere in the UK. We actually preferred the local towns of Penge and Beckenham for our daily outings and needs. It was fun to get to experience the local culture and integrate ourselves into the daily life. We did, of course, travel to London on several occasions and took tours to see the sights. One can also just catch a red double decker bus and ride it to the end of the line as Ken recommends - the number 24 bus - and then ride it back to Victoria.

We loved the area so much and felt so at home at the flat that we intend to ask Ken and Annie to let us visit again in the spring of 2013.

The flat is on the second floor of the building (American definition) and might prove to be difficult to navigate if handicapped. I walk with a cane and had no difficulty going up and down the one flight of stairs to the flat from the ground floor.

Our visit could not have been more enjoyable! Even the weather cooperated and was just fine during most of our three week stay. We didn't even turn on a radio or the tv during our entire stay! HOW NICE IT WAS!!!

Our family of four, 2 adults and 2 teenagers, stayed at this location for over a week in early July and we found it suited our needs perfectly. It is spacious, clean, with very comfortable beds, and all the amenities one would find in a regular home such as washer/dryer. We especially loved the fully equipped kitchen where we cooked many evening meals. We found that the food available in regular supermarkets in London is far superior than what you find in regular markets in the states. The cheeses, meats, vegetables and fruits were very reasonable and making an excellent meal was far cheaper and better than what we could afford in London. The area is very safe and close to the trains. All in all, the description is true to the reality. But perhaps the best part are the landlords because they are a pleasure to deal with and even called us in London to make sure everything was up to par. Highly recommend it and would go back in a heartbeat.
