Beachfront home with original hardwood paneling and large rooms, provides a warm, comfortable setting with all amenities: fully equipped kitchen, living room, dining room, wrap-around porch with ocean views on 3 sides. Large-screen TV, VCR/DVD, 2 pianos, ping pong table, and wireless network available. Master bedroom has sink, king bed, and sundeck overlooking the ocean; queen bed (with sink); full bed; bunkroom with a pair of bunk beds. A rocky beach is directly across the street; 5-minute walks to a long stretch of fine sand beach and an Audubon nature reserve. Biddeford Pool is 20 miles south of Portland, between Old Orchard Beach and Kennebunkport. The village is unspoiled by tourism, with a general store and lobster pound. Excellent restaurants, gift shops, antique shops, and hiking trails all within 15 miles. Great location for bicycling, walking along the beach, windsurfing, sea kayaking, or exploring picturesque coastal towns in the vicinity.

This is an unbelievable spot for enjoying the summertime with children or adults. Rocky shores provide beautiful views and fun exploring; the sandy beach is great for swimming, sunning or surf casting. Biddeford Pool is in one of the most scenic areas on the Maine coast. Ferry Beach State Park in nearby Saco, with 117 acres of trails, is great for nature hikes, while abundant wildlife can be seen on a canoe trip at Scarborough Marsh Nature Center. It’s a short drive to Kennebunk, renowned for its tree-lined streets, historic homes, antique shops and art galleries, or Kennebunkport, where the waterfront is bursting with great restaurants, clothing boutiques for many styles, and attractive gift shops. Also nearby, Old Orchard Beach is the place to go for seaside amusement parks and miniature golf. Just 20 miles away, the city of Portland boasts a world-class art museum and a historic district with some of the best shopping and dining experiences you'll find anywhere in New England.

The house was just as described! The porch was wonderful-the pianos, ping-pong table and the great space in general. Although our weather was terrible the house was very accomodating and comfortable. We were all able to spread out and enjoy ourselves. The pebble beach in front of the house was great particularily when the tide was out. Getting to the big sandy beach was a bit of a walk-a parking permit would have been a help although at low tide the beach across the street was plenty of entertainment! The views-when it was not raining- were stunning! A treat for all despite the poor weather! The owner was very accomodating by phone and e-mail and the pictures on the website were the selling point for us.The house was clean and the ammenities were fabulous-a fully stocked kitchen, games, books, beach stuff, and lots of extras! We may be interested again next year! It was a great experience!
