We originally built the 'Seabright Cottage' as a gathering place for extended family and friends. My parents bought the lot in 1971, and the (very small) shack built there was demolished to make way for the new house twenty five years later.
As a vacation rental, our visitors get the opportunity to enjoy the ocean, beach, great places to eat, parks, Harbor, etc. as much as we do.
We visit frequently from our home in Truckee. Our kids love the transition from the mountains to the ocean environment, and spend countless hours at Seabright Beach, a 5 minute walk from our house, and down the steps to the beach. We love our friendly little neighborhood; the well maintained gardens are colorful and a joy to inspect on our daily walks to the beach!
The Boardwalk is also within walking distance. We enjoy visiting Steamer's Lane (close to the Boardwalk), where all of the locals surf.
Occasionally, we go Downtown to hear music, see a movie, go to the bookstore, or browse the many little shops.
My husband is a General Contractor and keeps the Cottage in ship shape. Our good friend, Debbie, is our on-site Manager, and lives close by.
I spend time in my home office year round working on the maintenance, upkeep, and rentals of Seabright Cottage.
In addition, I spend winters as a ski instructor at Squaw Valley USA, and occasionally teach for Disabled Sports USA at Alpine Meadows ski area.
I enjoy providing our tenants with a great place to stay in Santa Cruz.
