Photos and Description of the County Donegal vacation cottage rental 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, sleeps a maximum of 5

Experience true rural Ireland at Roosky Cottage located in North West Ireland on a large scenic trout and salmon lake. Although technically in Leitrim County we are only 5 minutes from popular Donegal County. The cottage is a traditional 19th century dwelling with thatched roof, tucked away on a grassy hillside, under the Dartry Mountains of Yeats fame. The property lies 10 minutes from the seaside town of Bundoran, 1/2 hour from Sligo and Donegal towns, three hours from Dublin, two hours from Belfast. Roosky cottage is one of a kind... the only thatched cottage on Lough Melvin. Ideal for honeymooners, couples, family of four, fishermen, golfers, writers and artists! Traditional open-hearth fireplaces grace the living room and bedrooms. Central heating, and modern ceramic tiled bathrooms make Roosky your ideal vacation home. Enjoy preparing your own meals in our fully-equipped kitchen. Electricity and heating are included in our rates. Fishing boats available.

Roosky Cottage

Crowstoes Tarbrax, Scotland
Review Submitted: July 22, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Had a fantastic stay at Roosky cottage, beautiful, tranquill setting. Great to get away from it all. Claudia who manages the property was fantastic, had everything ready for us. Fishing on Lough Melvin, or a boat trip, or just chilling out and getting away from it all. Plenty to see and do within an hours drive from the cottage. Craig.
Owner's Response: We are delighted that our guests enjoy their stay at Roosky Cottage. We strive to preserve the old world feel of cottage life here, from the natural landscaping, original stone and thatch construction and turf fireplaces, yet offering the conveniences of modern life. We are lucky to have a wonderful manager who is our dear neighbor that keeps Roosky in it's pristine condition and is so welcoming and helpful to our guests.

Turf makes the day..

Review Submitted: November 16, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
Ireland, late autumn, wet, windy and wonderful. Raincoat, hat, good shoes and warm pullovers on. Out in the mornings, packed lunches, golfoutfit and off we went. Thougths about work, stress and "have-to-do-this-and-that" flew away in the wind. The Atlantic in sight every day, at new stops (golf-courses) nearby, gave an inside harmony. This together with the Irish wind, that we got used to, gave us a new close to nature experience. Good shopping, lambsteak, at the local butchers and back home to our cottage late afternoon, the cottage felt like home. Everýthing you need for cooking at home was there. After a nice homecooked dinner with a pint or two of Guinnes we sat down by the fireplace. Got the turffire burning, we felt warm, happy and tired. Totally relaxed by the fire gave us lots of new energy for the next day. New places to see, a new challange, a new scenic wiew, a new experience to fill our mental rucksack with. Staying in this cottage gives lots of different choices, not far to go and the cottage is full of booklets with information, ideas and maps which makes it easy to plan for your stay. Everybody that is longing for a relaxed stay, with active life during the day and a relaxing evening by the turffire should choose Roosky Cottage.

'Roosky Cottage really captures Ireland! It is peaceful, but yet near all the sites. You feel like you are really getting away, but yet within a short distance is shopping and pubs in the cities such as Sligo. I'd love to go back again! Judy Mysza, Chicago, Illinois USA

'We loved how peaceful and private it was & its location…close to so many wonderful spots! One of the most gorgeous spots is the road along the mountain behind the cottage. Our dream is to return some day!'
Joan and Phil Bilodeau Deerfield, New Hampshire USA
