Ski in and ski out of this extremely private 3 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath town home, which perches high above the valley, offering stunning views. Open living, dining and kitchen areas boast a beautiful stone-faced gas fireplace. A wall of windows soars up to the exposed log beam ceiling. The kitchen is bright and open, with granite counter tops and a separate breakfast bar. A large deck wraps across the front of the home, offering even better views. Also on the main level are the garage, laundry room, and guest bath. In summer, a lovely mountain brook babbles right outside your windows. After a day of fishing and golf in the valley, enjoy the cool breezes, amazing views and solitude of this property on the spacious, shaded, view decks. An oversized master bedroom and master bath, complete with jetted spa tub, king bed, and walk-in closet encompass the entire upper floor. Downstairs, a cozy den with gas fireplace awaits. Just out the back door are another deck and the hot tub.

Our townhome is located about 6 miles from the town of Whitefish, above the Flathead Valley on the slopes of Big Mountain. It's about a 10-minute walk uphill to The Village and about a 10-minute walk downhill to The Day Lodge. The town of Whitefish is darling, with exceptional restaurants and wonderful shops, including locally produced arts.

  • The Master Bath is huge, with a separate shower and jetted tub. There's also a huge walk-in closet right off the Master Bath. There's a half-bath off the main living areas, so the 3 guest baths don't get 'visited' very much. Afterall, a little privacy always makes a vacation even better.

  • The Master Suite takes up the entire upper floor, and is big enough for a family with 2 small children. The large Bedroom has a King and a Trundle Bed (a twin with another twin that pulls out from below). The Master Suite is very large, with a jetted tub, double sinks, and a huge walk-in closet. The Second Bedroom, downstairs, is just off the hot tub on the back porch. We've learned to graciously give our guests the Master Suite, so we can run quickly from the hot tub, right into our bedroom! The Third Bedroom has two twin beds, and we have often pushed them together to accommodate couples. It, too, adjoins a full bath. There are additional sleeper sofas, but we have found that 8 folks rather 'fill up' the living areas. However, if every guest needs their own bed, they can probably be accommodated!

As you drive up the mountain to the beautiful Whitefish Mountain Resort, the stress of life has no need to occupy any part of your being. You are taken away to another world, a place to simply be...a place to be still, a place to seek adventure, a place reflect, a place to laugh those deep belly laughs, a place to call home, a place to reconnect with good friends, your children, and your love.

This mountain home is beautiful, clean, spacious and quiet. It is located right on the ski trail. It has all the amenities one would need. The owners take great care in making sure that your experience is perfect for you. The attention to detail can be seen throughout the home.

Come, rest, and come again....

What a joy!!! Everything for a fabulous week. Got a few groceries and there was no need to drive anywhere. Skiing all day and hot tubbing all evening. Very rich, spacious and well kept accomodations with BEAUTIFUL views. We felt spoiled. BUT, Glacier National Park and the truely western Town of Whitefish was too close to pass up. Our 8 year old was never bored! The biggest problem? The time flew too fast.

The skiing was incredible - I had no idea the Whitefish ski area was so huge! I'm a big fan of skiing back to the townhouse for a yummy homemade lunch instead of expensive resort restaurants. Also, we took the overnight train from the Seattle area straight into Whitefish which was a bonus as a relaxing way to travel. I plan to come again!

We loved staying at Big Mountain. There was so much to do for all of our family. The townhouse is so user friendly and in beautiful surroundings. It was a wonderful vacation for us all.
