Winter Activities:
Less than 45 minutes away you can go into The Pisgah Forest. Waynesville and Ghost Town in Maggie Valley and in the other direction, Wolf Mountain for skying, snowboarding and sledding. Even though snow in our house is scant, within 45 minutes, as you drive up to higher elevations, there is plenty of fun in the snow to be found. Camping equipment is available for an extra fee.
There is an Air Hockey table and a pool table. Assorted games and books. There is room to play football in the front yard.
Summer Activities:
Antiquing, shopping, visit Biltmore House, (year-round), visit organic farms and restaurants, farmers markets, and plenty of nearby activities. A short drive away you can go fishing or swimming in nearby lakes and rivers. We have many brochures at the house so you can pick and choose to your heart's content. Camping equipment is available for an extra fee.
Bring a football or a volleyball, you can use our huge front lawn to play.
My favorite thing to do here is: NOTHING. I lie around and sunbathe on the deck and just breathe fresh mountain air. I have a collection of books if all you like to do is read, like me. The kids usually have fun with the videos or playing pool and air hockey.l.
Fall Attractions:
If you come between September, October to November, you can see the leaves change color. Wonderful views as you drive to our house. Because we are in a rural area, and not right inside the city, you can enjoy sights that you would not get in the city. Yet, we are only 20 min. to the center of Asheville. You can go have dinner in town or attend any of the other attractions easily. Truly, the best of both worlds!
