Cancun Vacation Rental villa

The main draw on this rental was the private infinity pool, which did not work. The controller was permanately on ERROR 4. It was so cold it was unusable for most of us, and unless the controllers work it is just a pool. Grates were missing around the pool making it very dangerous. There is nothing to break the wind off the ocean and it was very strong on the patio.

There were 3 bedrooms all with their own private bath, in which only 1 shower worked. The first floor one was barely a trickle of water. The master shower flow was so minimal and could only get lukewarm water. Therefore the jetted tub was a joke. The only chair in any of the bedrooms was a three legged one in the master bath. We found another shower on the top deck with the washer and dryer, but there was no shower curtain.

Curtain pulls were broken and one curtain had been removed and thrown behind the couch along with a rug. There were electrical wires hanging from the ceiling. Lights were burned out throughout the unit as well as outside.

There was not an ironing board and iron, no shampoo and they did not accept credit cards.

The maid spoke no English, was not there to meet us upon our arrival, she showed up about half an hour later and then we spent at least 2 hours trying to get her to take the money (travelers checks and cash). We were unable to contact the owners and did not have a contact number for HomeAway. The owners are trying to sell the unit and fortunately there was a large for sale sign on the building with a phone number and we were able to finally work it out with them.

The place is not in good shape, tiles broken and missing, rusted out base and no umbrella for shade. The refrigerator handles were so disgusting that we wrapped paper towels around them, after using bleach wipes to try and clean them in order to use. Ants and cockroaches abounded, even though we did not leave any food out on counters.

I would not recommend this property to anyone until the owners take care of the problems.
