This house is absolutely gorgeous - crisp, clean, beautifully decorated, with a private plunge pool secluded in the back. Gorgeous jungle scenery and wonderful view of the ocean and mountains. Monkeys in the morning, birds throughout the day, absolutely wonderful. We spent 4 nights here as part of our honeymoon and wish we could have stayed longer. Can't wait to come back!
Where to start...what an amazing house!
First of all the location of this house couldn't be any better. Very centrally located, 200 meters to the main beach road of Santa Teresa, and such a short walk to the beautiful pristine beaches. The house itself is just beautiful and very well maintained. 2 bedrooms, one with an amazing king size bed, with a big L couch that easily sleeps 2 people if needed. The second bedroom can be made up with a queen or two single beds, making it very flexible for all different groups of travelers. 2.5 bathrooms, very spacious living and dining room space, with an amazing infinity pool. With the intensely hot sun during the middle of the day, seeking shelter in the house to relax and cool down was just perfect and breezy being perched up on the hill surrounded by the Costa Rican wildlife!
The two house cats made our stay even more fun as well! The house owner Siggi was simply awesome. She was very organized, and made every effort possible to make sure we were all taken care of properly. It was her organization that assured us our valuables and possessions were completely safe in her house (which I might add has a full on gate to keep any unwanted people out)
Having a 4x4 is definitely necessary to reach the house, as I can imagine in the wet season the road gets washed out alot.
One of the best parts was having coffee grinds and milk in the fridge for our first morning wake up - the finishing touch by Siggi to her wonderful house and hospitality. This place is a must visit and is as beautiful as described and shown through the pictures.
An absolutely beautiful house that makes you feel completely isolated from the world in the most beautiful setting, but less than a 5 minute walk to the main strip of Santa Teresa and the beach. The owner is a fabulous lady that ensures that you are comfortable, well taken care of, and safe. There is almost nothing better than relaxing on the second floor balcony at night and staring at the stars while you are lounging on the outdoor chairs. I have already recommended this place to several friends and is perfect for any type of group, whether it be a family, 2 couples, or a group of guys as we were. Highly recommended and it's a guarantee that you'll have a great time staying here.
Where to start! The open air layout was perfect for the weather and surrounding environment. We are from Colorado, so being close to nature was important to us while in Costa Rica. The sounds of the jungle at dusk were unreal. We used the private pool constantly. The kitchen had everything you need for evenings in. Views from the top deck couldn't be beat. The location couldn't be any better. You were near the main village area, but just up the hill for some peace and quite. A great beach with a palm tree grove and good surf was a 5 to 10 minute walk. Several Yoga places within walking distance as well. To top it all off, Siggi is like your personal travel agent and will recommend all kinds of great restaurants and insider tips. Check it out for yourself!
We spent 4 days at the lovely, spotless Casa sol Y Sombre mid January and the house was everything we expected. The open air living was a new experience for us 4 Canadians but the breeze from the design of the house was delicious. The owner looked after every detail and even had some eggs, milk and coffee in the fridge for the first morning! Santa Teresa has several good grocery stores and a wonderful restaurant on the beach towards mal pais. We walked there on the beach and took a cab back. Make sure you visit Playa Hermosa and Montazuma using the old road - great fun. I highly recommend Siggi's house for a relaxing vacation destination. We didn't turn on the tv once! Thanks again.
Being 64 and having traveled all my life, this house is the best I have been living in while traveling. Ten marvelous days in a dream house. You have to love modern tropical architecture to enjoy all the details of the the construction. Cool places when it is hot outside, no need to install AC, a haven of tranquility on a hill over a rambunctious village, the only sounds at night coming from howler monkeys ... Impeccable kitchen for people loving to cook ... A master bedroom on the second floor as we can only imagine, the king size bed is over a living room continuing as an outside terrace ... Plus another nice bedroom on the first floor with its own bathroom. A small and quiet Buddha garden where some wild mammals find their water in dry time ... The reason this house is so beautiful and functional is that the owner built it for herself and still live in it during the low season. Cleaning services were done regularly. Safety measures and devices were the best I saw in Costa Rica. Two nice cats added an accent of home living. Who can't afford a 2000 foot square house with the budget of a regular hotel room. One of the best deals in Santa Teresa.
