Quaint 'fisherman's cottage' in wonderful York Harbor. Easy stroll to gorgeous beach, the inner harbor, spectacular ocean cliff walk, nature trails along scenic York river. Walk to fine restaurants. Short drive to Long Sands beach and local attractions. Cottage was remodeled in 2008 with all new appliances, paint, carpet, and furnishings. Queen-size bed in master BR; 2 twins in second BR; 1 twin in third BR. Room for additional cot or sleeping bag in third BR. Fully equipped kitchen with place settings for six. All bedding provided. Free broadband internet.

Harbor Beach declared 'local treasure'!!: The July 2008 issue of Down East Magazine listed Harbor Beach as a 'local treasure,' and one of a dozen 'hidden beaches' in the state of Maine. The magazine highlights the secret pleasures of this special place and correctly notes that 'there's a lot to gawk at, and a lot to do.' The only problem is the lack of parking, says Down East, but it won't be a problem for you, since it is only a few minutes walk to this beautiful, 'hidden' spot from your private cottage!! This is the beach that the locals use. It is not unusual to have the beach entirely to yourself for an early morning walk with coffee or a late evening stroll.

Wonderful, Comfortable Cottage

Our family thoroughly enjoyed a week's stay. The location is excellent: very short walk and you are on the beach; you are on a quiet side street (we had friends that rented a house very close to this cottage and complained about the noise, but you don't have to worry about that here!); near many of the local attractions (but not in the middle of a busy tourist strip). Our two children (10 and 13) enjoyed playing in the outdoor area. We would definitely recommend this location, whether you are looking for a comfortable place to sit back and take it easy for a week or if you are wanting to enjoy meaning of the sites Maine has to offer. We would definitely stay here again.
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

Great Stay In Maine

We had a great stay at Fisherman's Cottage. The proximity to Harbor Beach could not have been better (5 minute walk at most). Kim and Barry have thought of everything for your vacation from beach toys for the kids to anything you may need in the kitchen. They are incredibly friendly, helpful, and available. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this house for your next stay in Maine.

everything we needed

We stayed for 4 nights with 4 children 4, 4, 8, and 9. The home was very clean and honestly had everything we needed. More than enough towels for showers and the beach. The beach chairs and beach cart which was invaluable. Made packing much lighter. Kim, the owner was terrific. Both Bill and Kim went out of their way to contact us to make sure we were all set for our trip.

Great weekend getaway

The Fisherman's Cottage was a great place to stay. My boyfriend and I were looking to getaway for just a long weekend, and this cottage was perfect. It's in the perfect location of southern Maine where everything is close by, even the beach! Everything is provided for you, from places to eat and places to go, to the essential lobster plates and bibs (which we used!). The cottage is situated on a quiet street near York Village, and everything we did was within 15-20 minutes of the house. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and it was in part because of this house. I can safely say we'll be back here in the future. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation.

We were fortunate to be able to stay at the Fisherman's cottage on three different occasions in the summer of 2011 and my 4 year old son asks every week when we'll be going back. The cottage feels like a home away from home. The owners have thoughtfully taken care of every detail for their guests. With three year old twins, we made all of our meals at home and it couldn't have been easier. The kitchen had everything you could hope for or need, not to mention a grill and picnic table outside in the beautiful and peaceful yard and provisions for a picnic on the beach. The bedrooms are neat and cozy. The living room was more comfortable than our own and they had FULL cable which is a dream for any family. The resident's beach is a mere 5 minute walk and the owners provide lawn chairs, a beach caddy, and toys. I packed half as many things as I usually do for a vacation because the cottage had the rest. The owners went above and beyond to make sure that we had a wonderful time. I am extremely picky when it comes to travel and lodging and am always looking for the next best thing. Well, I've stopped searching because I've found it. We are counting down the days until our return in the summer of 2012 ...
