Breaking in a beautiful vacation house

I stayed with my family and friends for a week in early August. The house is beautifully designed, well furnished and nearly completed in its finishing touches. (Some painting, faceplates and permanent railings are still needed.) The bedrooms are spacious. The bathrooms are downright luxurious. The kitchen is small but well equipped. The design is brilliant in that you have maximum openness to the ocean while maintaining a high degree of privacy on a street rowed with beach houses. The decks are a great place for dinner, lounging and listening to music on the outdoor speakers. The lower deck is without rails despite a two-tiered drop of a couple of feet each. My toddler did okay but he is pretty cautious by nature. The furnishings are very attractive but one wonders how they will weather future high usage.
We found the house just as advertised in the pictures. The private beach does have some foot traffic and the house does get quite a bit of attention. The beach itself is on the bay. The only problem is massive amounts of seaweed that collects on the shore, creating a big, squishy barrier to the water. The owner should join forces with his neighbors and have it dredged to make it a serviceable swimming beach. Low tide produces a good quarter mile of walking space for beautiful sunsets and looks at interesting sea life.
Owner's Response: We were pleased this renter enjoyed the house and all of its benifits and we really appreciate his compliments on the overal design. The kitchen is a "galley" kitchen and was designed as part of the family room (36'x20') with a long bar separating the kitchen from the rest of the room. So if you are cook, like my wife and I, you dont miss the action and still get a view while cooking. As for the beach, unfortunately, periodically after storms a lot of seaweed can wash up on the beach; however, its more rare than common. Additionally, if the seaweed does arrive, a walk 100 yards down the beach the seaweed completely disappears. Hope you can visit us and see for yourself.
