These 2 luxury penthouse are privately owned - there should be no confusion between these magnificent properties & some other sparse holiday properties offered by others. 'Fairways',is a quiet and secure complex built in Andalusian village style. There are sub tropical gardens and an immaculate heated & lifeguard monitored swimming pool. The accommodation and resort are ideal for families and those seeking a quiet haven in which to relax. These apartments were completely refurbished in 2013. All day sun is ensured by a south-facing terraces / balconies for the one bedroom penthouse and a full sized rooftop sun decks for the two bed property. There are breathtaking views of the sea in one direction and Mount Teide volcano the other. Cool tiles cover the floor and all lounges are very spacious. Both have English TV,WI-FI, DVD & CD, radio. The kitchens are modern fully equipped with hob, oven, microwave, washing machine, toaster, etc.
There is no charge for utilities or lining.
Children's Club: There is free, professionally organised children's entertainment available most days and an outdoor child's play area with safety flooring, slides, climbing frame, swing, ping pong , table football and occasionally a bouncy castle. This is situated in a safe secure area within the Complex
Security: Fairways is a private complex and is gated. It is ultra safe and secure, but the penthouses have an electronic safe for peace of mind
Welcome Packs: If you are arriving 'out of hours' when the Supermarket is closed you will not starve as there will be a free goody pack waiting for you. t. Also there is a 24hour key collection service for 'out of hours' arrivals.
This review is for the one bedroom penthouse accommodation. The owner was responsive and helpful, responding to my queries promptly and providing information in advance in relation to the area.
The apartment is as described and is equipped and maintained to a high standard. It is based within a secure complex with a beautiful pool area. The apartment itself and the complex as a whole is extremely clean. There is a lovely balcony area if you do not wish to sunbathe down by the pool. The pool is heated which is definitely an added bonus.
This is definitely somewhere which will be high on our list in terms of an early getaway. In fact we have already booked for next year.
We had a lovely two month stay in this penthouse apartment. It was well equipped with all we needed and has a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and also has views of the sea. There are some very nice bars and restaurants close to hand all serving very good food and reasonably priced too. There is a well stocked supermarket on site which has a good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables everyday also some lovely bread and cakes.
If you like walking there are some very nice coastal walks.

We have just returned from our holiday at Fairways where we stayed in the one bedroom penthouse apartment. All furnishings and equipment in the unit were clean and in perfect working order and and the high ceilings kept the apartment cool even on the warmest days. The view from the good sized balcony over the pool and beyond to the sea was great and this was a tranquil area for quiet sunbathing during the day. The apartment is close enough to the resort wifi point to allow free internet access throughout.
All arrangements worked perfectly throughout - booking, confirmation, comprehensive apartment and resort details provided prior to travel, local arrangements for picking up the keys out of hours and a friendly and knowledgeable local contact was provided.
Fairways itself is kept immaculately clean and the reception staff are cheery and helpful. Local trips can be arranged through them or through the car hire office on-site. There are plenty of bar / restaurants in the area (on-site or within 5 minutes walk) although they do all aim squarely at the tourist - for more eclectic or local meal choices you do need to go to Golf Del Sur, Los Abrigos or Las Galletas.
Fairways is a secure environment - access to the resort is controlled with electronic key cards and there are usually plenty of visible staff, including a lifeguard who is on duty at all times the pool is open. I would, and do, recommend Fairways to my friends and family as a safe and quiet holiday location.
We stayed at this apartment for a week from the 28th December 2011. I am used to staying in 5* hotels for my holidays and just wanted a cheap winter break. However, whilst this holiday was different, I cannot think of anything bad to say about this place. The independence of not being tied to the hotel was a great change.
The apartment is like home from home, a generous size, with all the mod cons such as fridge, washing machine, TV, DVD, music system, microwave and oven. The cupboards were stacked with non-perishable essentials such as salt/pepper.
The complex was fantastic for kids with a secure heated pool and no problems getting a sun bed. In fact the apartment had a huge sheltered veranda overlooking the pool complete with sunbeds and table & chairs, which allowed us to keep an eye on our 8 year old whilst he went into the pool. The veranda was south facing so had the sun all day.
The nearby village of Los Abrigos had fantastic restaurants, which I preferred to the eateries nearby. However, there was plenty to choose from on the complex and reasonably priced.
The owner sent us an information pack prior to our departure detailing the local area which was a great help.
We will definitely be returning and I would recommend this to everyone wishing to visit Tenerife.
We stayed at Fairways in September and had a really great time. Fairways was very well maintained, spacious and with plenty of well kept gardens. The pool was of a good size, very inviting as it was crystal clear plus very important, plenty of sunbeds. A nice touch was the waitress service for drinks & snacks. We didn't go hungry in the evenings either as there were so many good quality restaurants within walking distance around the area.
The penthouse itself was spotlessly clean and perfect condition. It was really home from home and I can understand why some (lucky) people apparently book it for a couple of months at a time. It was fully equipped and had everything needed. The double aspect lounge had great views over the pool and sea one way and the gardens the other. The BBQ on the balcony was a bonus as the supermarket opposite had a great delicatessen.
Definitely recommended for a peaceful lazy holiday.
This beautiful apartment was well furnished, well equipped and maintained to a high standard. Way above the normal self catering standard and worthy of 6*. Apartment had safe, hairdryer and adequte wardrobes. Large balcony/terrace with bbq, sun beds and table and chairs. The apartment is in a secure gated complex and when the pool is in use there is a lifeguard on duty.
Small well priced supermarket opposite as well as car hire, restaurants and hairdresser/beautician on site.
The Amarilla Estate is situated on the southern Costa del Silencio coast about a 10 minute taxi ride (£10) from the airport. It is perfectly situated midway between the airport and lively tourist areas of Los Cristianos and Playa las Americas. Fairways is a small private development self contained with a friendly village atmosphere. Built in Andulucian style it is situated in the middle of two lush championship golf courses. It is gated for security and exclusivity. Twenty miles to the north is the Mount Tiede volcano and a hundred yards to the south is the rugged Atlantic coast with dramatic walks. Here the beaches are shingle, but a short distance away in either direction, are safe sandy ones. On site there is a quality restaurant, several bars and car hire facilities. Adjacent there is a supermarket, a laundry, a take away, video hire and a sports bar. Additionally there is a 24-hour British representative on hand to help with any emergencies,queries,excursions or money changing.
