These 5 luxury apartments are privately owned - there should be no confusion between these magnificent properties and other sparse holiday properties offered locally. 'Fairways',is a quiet and secure complex built in Andalusian village style. There are sub tropical gardens and an immaculate heated & lifeguard monitored swimming pool. The accommodation and resort are particularly popular with families and those seeking a quiet haven in which to relax. The apartments were completely refurbished in 2009. All day sun is ensured by a south-facing balconies, plus from the penthouses rooftop sun decks. There are breathtaking views of the sea in one direction and Mount Teide volcano the other. Every bedroom has its own bathroom. Venetian tiles cover the floor and lounges are very spacious, some have additional sofa bed. All have English TV, DVD & CD, radio. The kitchens are fully equipped with hob, oven, microwave, washing machine, toaster etc. etc. There is no charge for utilities or linen

This ground floor Golf apartment is in one of the best locations at Fairways, overlooking both the Golf course and the volcano, with a stunning night veiw of all the hillside villages lighting up. It is in a tranquil position and has one of the largest terraces at Fairways with table & chairs plus a brick BBQ for 'al fresco ' dining or just retire to admire the view. The interior is tastefully decorated and was fully renovated in 2009. It now has very comfy leather suite plus table for indoor dining . The lounge also has quality audio, satellite TV with English channels, DVD player ceiling fan. The modern kitchen has ceramic hob, oven, fridge, freezer, washing machine etc. There is also free WiFi. The bathroom is totally new too, with a triple sized walk in shower, hair dryer etc. Bedrooms have either a double bed or 2 singles, ceiling fans, plenty of storage space plus an electronic safe for peace of mind. If hiring a car there is private parking right outside your front door.

The Amarilla Estate is situated on the southern Costa del Silencio coast about a 10 minute taxi ride (£10) from the airport. It is perfectly situated midway between the airport and lively tourist areas of Los Cristianos and Playa las Americas. Fairways is a small private development self contained with a friendly village atmosphere. Built in Andulucian style it is situated in the middle of two lush championship golf courses. It is gated for security and exclusivity. Twenty miles to the north is the Mount Tiede volcano and a hundred yards to the south is the rugged Atlantic coast with dramatic walks. Here the beaches are shingle, but a short distance away in either direction, are safe sandy ones. On site there is a quality restaurant, several bars and car hire facilities. Adjacent there is a supermarket, a laundry, a take away, video hire and a sports bar. Additionally there is a 24-hour British representative on hand to help with any emergencies,queries,excursions or money changing

SECURITY: Fairways is a private complex and is gated. It is ultra safe and secure, but the apartment has an electronic safe for peace of mind

WELCOME PACK: On arrival you will find a free goodies pack waiting for you, so you will not starve if you are arriving after the Supermarket closes !. There will be tea, coffee, milk, sugar, biscuits, bread, butter, jam, cake, sweets, plus a bottle or two of wine to make sure your holiday gets off to a great start. Also there is a 24hour key collection service if you are arriving 'out of hours'

Fairways in February

We stayed in this Fairways apartment, escaping the UK winter snow in February 2009 and enjoyed it very much. Everything we needed was there and anything we needed help with (such as replacement light bulbs), Suzanne & Steve (the owner's representatives at Amarilla Car Rental, on site) were there and happy to assist us.

Fairways is a lovely complex with the public pool and garden areas being very well cared for.

As well as having full kitchen facilities, the apartment had a built in barbeque on the balcony. However, we chose to indulge in eating out as there were plenty of restaurants etc within easy reach for us to walk to in the evenings.

We hired a car for a couple of days and found we needed to do that given that access to public transport was a little bit of a walk away (20 mins to nearest bus stop). However, taxis seemed readily available. We did enjoy our walks along the coastal paths to Los Abrigos and Las Galletas.

I wish we could have stayed longer than a week but look forwad to being able to return another time!
