Come and tour our 'Land of Waterfalls'! Area attractions include our Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway, Biltmore Mansion, rafting-kayaking-fishing down the French Broad and Davidson rivers and lakes Jocassee and Toxaway. Children will enjoy our Cradle of Forestry and the Fish Hatchery! There are many premier biking and hiking trails in our seven state parks including Gorges, Pisgah, Dupont, Caesars Head, Natahala, Great Smoky Mountain, and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Brevard and Asheville offer shops and antiquing, restaurants, seasonal festivals, and more.

The log cabin has two bedrooms, two baths, a loft with a futon, an open two story sitting room, separate dining and kitchen, and an open two story sunroom/den. This large room is marked with a 20 foot stacked river rock fireplace (from our stream) seen through the 10 windows facing your approach to the property. About Stacy Stephens

Michael and Stacy are the owners of this one-of -a kind log cabin situated south of the Blue Ridge parkway overlooking Lake Jocassee. We are both classical musicians which we enjoy now primarily as a hobby. Michael a professional flutist for 20 years and Stacy an opera singer for the past 12 years. We enjoy the outdoors and the beauty of the land surrounding the cabin and Brevard. Stacy spends most of her time in the garden fussing about and Michael with a honey do list...

Why Stacy Stephens chose Brevard

When we first drove onto the bridge and saw the cabin and its environs we went crazy. It really is a story book setting and hard to photograph. The sound of the water falling and moving is never ending - almost like sitting next to the ocean. When we are there the rest of the world is gone and the peace of the landscape inhabits our minds and beings. Brooksong is its own little secluded world.

What makes this cabin unique

What is unique is the water, seclusion, and the beauty of the log cabin itself. The interior is warm and inviting. Many furnishings are antique, unique, and some made by Stacy and her 84 yr old shop teacher friend Walter. Rooms are spacious with three rooms for gathering - 24x16 double vaulted ceiling sun room with 10 windows, a double vaulted ceiling den next to the dining room and kitchen, as well as a loft with a desk and log bed futon. The covered deck is also large and a great place to eat, relax, or to watch the rain feed the waterfall and streams.

The Brevard Music Festival starts at the end of June through the middle of August.

Area attractions include the Cradle of Forestry in Pisgah National Forrest, Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education, Fish Hatchery, Davidson and French Broad Rivers, 'Land of 250 Waterfalls' touring, Sliding rock (children will enjoy the smooth rock slide), Allison Deever House, the Carl Sandburg House, Chimney Rock, Blue Ridge Parkway, Flat Rock, Lake Lure, Trolley Tours, Snow skiing, Antiquing, Crafts shows, and more.

Don't miss the Biltmore Mansion! Spend the day at the Biltmore viewing the house and gardens, enjoy the eateries and shops, and don't forget the winery and its own special store. Children will enjoy a picnic near a pond or stream on the Biltmore's forested grounds.

Brevard, Hendersonville, and Asheville all have a wonderful selection of restaurants from pubs and pizza to fine dining.

Fun for the boys and relaxing for us!

What a beautiful place. The boys had such great adventures climbing hills and playing in the creeks and waterfalls. We have shared your site with a few of our friends as well. We are 'adopting the house' as OUR mountain home and will be requesting same time next year when you have the calendar available. The kids even said the vacation was better than Disney. I know for us it was a heck of a lot more relaxing... a very special home and we appreciate you sharing it with us.

This is Close to Heaven!

Brooksong is peaceful, secluded and good for the soul! Each of the three generations in our family enjoyed the cabin, porch, swings, waterfall and streams! Have some firewood delivered and enjoy a fire in the beautiful stone fireplace. The outside views from this room are amazing! The beds are warm and the kitchen inviting! Stacy made our stay so easy, she provided great driving directions and answered all of our questions. The property was clean and obviously cared for and loved! You will love spending time at Brooksong!

A little corner of Heaven!

We had an incredible time in this secluded cabin. The important amenities were all there. The lay-out of the cabin is very convenient. Went to sleep with the sounds of the waterfall in our ears. Well kept and clean. Owners easy to work with. As beautiful as the photos are they do not do this place justice.

Plan to have your first days food with you. The grocery store is a bit of a drive and honestly, you won't want to leave when you get there.

Far exceeded our expectations!

I wanted to thank you for a wonderful stay at Brooksong. It was perfect. It far exceeded our expectations. We travel a lot and found the cabin to be our new favorite place. We were able to bring my wife's 91 year old uncle up from Brevard for the day. He was obviously impressed as well. He has been a 25 year resident of another local mountain community and it really lifted his spirits to be at your cabin. Our daughters are 13,12 and 9 and were never bored. We hope to visit again soon.
