Isle La Motte Vacation Rental farmhouse

This property isnot quite as good as it sounds. Initially we didnot realize the house was on one side of the street and the lake was on the other side of a very well travelled street. Since we had 4 kids under the age of 9 it was problematic since someone had to accompany each one every time they needed to cross.
The house itself was not very clean and the bathrooms were extremely small ,only one shower for 8 of us was challenging. The towels were less than inviting and if someone was running water in the kitchen there was no water in the shower or water to flush the toilet . We got pretty good at determining why there was no water flowing but I found it annoying.There were holes in the screen porch where we ate all our meals, because there are alot of flys and mosquitoes,toilet paper stuffed in the screen holes helped alot.
The owner lives in the carriage house which looks down into the screenporch and it was extremely close to the main house and I would have preferred a little more space between the two homes..
The internet and TV and record player didnot work until the day before we left .
There is no beach to speak of just very small portion of rocky terrain but the kids managed to swim and play anyway,just not very good for sitting in a beach chair.
It is a very remote area and not too much to do other than boating and the owner was generous in lending her "tube" so we could use it with the boat we rented. There is a mooring and a dinghy.
There were only 2 window airconditioners in 2 bedrooms and one noisy fan for one bedroom and nothing for the other......exremely hot week we were there and this was not satisfactory.I noticed when we returned that the site does say both bathrooms are downstairs but I missed that piece of information prior to arrival, so with kids it can be challenging at night.
There are board games and a front yard swing which everyone seemed to enjoy.
A new italian kitchen counter top with directions to be extremely careful of because of it's fragility had us all nervous when we were in the kitchen.
If these kind of circumstances donot bother you than the property is perfect for boating. I was under the impression it was a little more elegant so I had some issues with the property. Go prepared to cook because there are no real restaurants within a short distance.
