Peace and quiet in a lovely location

The house and town were exactly as described by the owner - a charming, peaceful place, close to everything we needed and, in late September, empty beaches and no crowds - just what we were looking for.
The house was beautifully presented with everything ready for us to just walk in and set up home, although coming form the UK it took some time to figure out how 'broil' and 'bake' differ with the oven! Helpful information and support during the booking process also meant we felt confident in getting there and that our questions had all been answered. Local shops and amenities were easy to find and the maps and information helpfully provided by the owner at the house gave us lots of ideas for places to go.
Our only difficulty was finding a restaurant on a couple of evenings as many in late September, had switched to 'fall' hours - it would have been good to know this and been able to plan to go to them at the weekends when more were open - it limited the choice unless we chose to drive.
Overall a lovely base to explore a fascinating area and we'd love to come back again.
