62 1/2 Third St is the site for this unique single family home. In its hay-day, this home catered to local residents and their confectionery needs. This completely furnished home has a modern kitchen, cable television, as well as washer and dryer in-house. Probably its best feature is its location. You will only be two blocks from the water, two blocks from a park with tennis courts, and a short five minute walk to downtown and to all that Newport has to offer. With plenty of off street parking, you are only minutes away from first, second, and third beach. The 'point' is the historical district, so touring around is another bonus. The oldest homes in Newport are just down the street, and the majority of the homes are occupied by year round residents, so you can be assured that night is a peaceful time. Newport continues to provide all the activities you could want in the summer. The tennis hall of fame is up town, the yacht clubs and sailing are downtown.

Great location Cute and Comfy!

The Candy Shop matched its description exactly. It was very clean and well kept. The location is perfect, only an 8min walk to downtown, we did have to drive to the beach and cliff walk but its only about a 10min drive. The neighbors were great,very friendly and had many suggestions on things to do and places to go. There was great communication with the owner and I even got a text durring my stay from him making sure all was ok and asking if we had any questions which was very nice and appreciated. This is a great place for a girls weekend or a couples getaway, clean, comfy and very convenient to everything Newport! I would surely return to the Candy Shop and reccomend it to my friends.

Cute house, great location

We enjoyed staying in this cute home which is conveniently located to the visitor's center, the historic district and waterfront shopping. We were able to walk everywhere. The house was clean and had most amenities if you are inclined to do your own cooking. It even has a couple of beach chairs and towels to borrow. The owner was good at communicating via email and we would definitely come back to this home on a repeat visit to Newport.

Gorgeous Hideaway in Close Proximity to Thames

My girlfriends and I just returned from a stay at the Candy Shop and we are still talking about the wonderful time that we had. The Candy Shop was the perfect place for the 4 of us to stay. The inside has been completely renovated and has all the amenities a vacationer could as for. The Shop while small looking on the outside is in fact quite large and spacious on the inside.

To add to the appeal of this property, its located in the heart of The Point, which is the most beautiful area of Newport, with historic houses located all around you and the ocean just a few short blocks away.

Thames is a short walk away which supplies all the nightlife and shopping.

In short this rental property is an absolute steal given the property itself and the location in which is sits. We hope to make repeats visits in the future! Thank you Jeremy!

We would highly recommend this home. It is very clean and well taken care of. The location was PERFECT-close to everything you need. Although we walked to town, we are sorry that we didn't bring our bikes to explore Newport. The owner was great to deal with - which is always a plus! We're glad that we chose the "Candy Shop"!!

Newport Summer Getaway

We had a wonderful week staying in this great one bedroom house in Newport. What a great location-walking distance to the center of town, the harbor, etc. We rode our bikes to the beach! The condo is so comfortable (roomy & cozy couches) and a nicely remodeled kitchen and bathroom.The communication with the house's owner was great and he was very accommodating. There were great touches, down to a welcome basket (pale and shovel-filled with fun treats and a card waiting for us). It would be great if this rental could get a coffee maker, toaster, and DVD player for tenants that would like to eat breakfast in and watch a movie on a rainy day. We will definitely revisit the Candy Shop in Newport!!
