Unit has potential but is not well maintained

The unit contact was friendly, responsive, and even able to accomodate our arrival later on the same day. Overall, the booking process was very easy and the location was very convenient. But the unit itself, however, is poorly maintained.
The kitchen carpet had debris (crumbs etc) and dishes in the cabinet had a greasy film. There were cob webs in a number of corners in the unit and left over tiems from what we assume were guests during new years (paper new years party trumpets, noise makers, etc). There is a pull out sofa, but in removing the couch cushions to open the bed, there were crumbs, dirt, and hair.
Although the bathroom was recently renovated, the tub was dirty - the tub's jets/water intake box were covered in grime and the remainder of the tub surface was covered in a chalky residue. The drain on the tub was also broken. It was shut when we arrived and water would not drain out. (If the tub had been cleaned when the last guests checked out, they would have realized the drain was broken.) The property manager was friendly but was unable to fix the drain and asked us to leave the door unlocked while we were out during the day so a plumber would have access to the unit. We carried around our valuables with us for the day (laptop, phones, etc) since the unit door needed to be left unlocked, but the plumber never showed up. In the meantime, they unlocked someone else's unit to allow us to use the shower but the only way to access the other unit was to go outside, down two flights of stairs, and around to the side of the complex.
Although the unit is a good size, we would rather stay in a place that is smaller and cleaner.
Owner's Response: We're so sorry this renter was not satisfied with his experience. We have so many happy, repeat renters that come back year after year.
This was a spur-of the-moment (same day) rental in early April (pre-season) which was reflected in the rental rate. Like many Provincetown rentals, the unit was mostly vacant during the frigid winter months, and it had not received it's thorough "top-to-bottom" Spring cleaning to prepare it for the upcoming rental season.
After the previous renters departed, the unit was inspected and cleaned, and the tub drain was definitely in working order, so unfortunately, we just can't say what happened to cause the drain to jam. As soon as the problem was reported, the property manager for the unit was onsite in minutes, and a plumber was called without question or hesitation (on a Sunday morning). We really care about our guests and want to make sure they have a great Provincetown experience in our charming home-away-from-home. Thank you!
