Hear the river roar from your window. See the rushing rapids from your bedroom. This Mount Hood vacation home is an immaculate cedar cabin on a private, wooded lot on the Salmon River. Built in 2000, this home is a romantic escape, providing simple luxuries within, and peaceful woodlands all around. Windows stretch from the cherry floors to the vaulted ceiling all pointed toward the Salmon River. We offer special touches, including organic coffee, tea selection, and natural soaps. The master bedroom has a queen sleigh bed and gorgeous master bathroom. The lofted design offers views of the 20 + foot flagstone fireplace and out the back wall of windows. The second bedroom has its own full bath and views of the river. For a couple, we open the double doors to the master bedroom and configure this room as a sitting room for a master suite. The gourmet kitchen features a convection oven, ASKO appliances, gas range in center island, granite counters and hickory cabinets.

Great location

This house was in a great location. Close to Portland/airport. Even closer to Mount Hood and a wonderful array of hikes. Nestled in the woods a stone's throw to the Salmon river.

The living room and kitchen were great. Even in July we needed the fireplace and it sure kept the whole place toasty warm. The kitchen was well supplied. Outside we made good use of the grill and fire pit.

The boys loved the proximity of both the stream and river and could have stayed occupied for hours just playing in the water and along the banks.

We used this house as a home base to explore Oregon on day trips (had to make Crater Lake an overnight trip). Made a day trip to the Coast- Cannon Beach- Tillamook, Columbia River Gorge, two days hiking Mount Hood area. Our favorite- Mirror Lake/Tom, Dick and Harry Mountain - the trail head is a 10 minute drive from the house.

My only complaints with the house was the fact I didn't realize the two bedrooms were both in the loft - open to both the ceiling and to the living room below and with a sliding connecting door. This does lend itself to any privacy when you are traveling as a couple with three children!! During our stay the only T.V. was in the extra bedroom with only DVD capability. No T.V. for rainy days or to be able to check the weather forecast.

Overall our experience was very positive and I would definitely recommend this house.

Amazing stay

This house was perfect for our family. We had a family reunion at the Resort at the Mountain and we wanted to stay somewhere more in nature (and cheaper). We were suprised that the house was right on the Salmon River. We didn't expect it to be so close.

The house looks like it was just built and has an amazing kitchen. We like to cook in the house and we had everything that we needed. The little things like having alot of towels, coffee, tea made us never want to leave during the day. We did go on some great hikes and up to Mt Hood which is always spectular.

Wonderfully relaxing. We felt like we were in our own little private piece of heaven. It was 25 steps from the back porch to the creek and less than 50 steps to the Salmon River. Delightfully private, yet conveniently close to the Mt. Hood ski slopes, scenic hiking trails and a grocery store. The place is stocked with all the linens, towels, dishes, utensils, pots, pans, oils and spices you'll need, as well as a marvelous selection of coffee and teas. It's easy to feel at home in this place.

Amazing Getaway

We stayed at this home to go skiing at Mt Hood Meadows on Saturday and then for a relaxing hike on Sunday. The place is situated right next to the Salmon River. We took our coffee out to the river and had the feeling that we were the only people within miles.

The house is immaculate with a great kitchen. We cooked meals in and had everything we needed to make ourselved comfortable. The house is very open with windows facing the river and creek. The fireplace was very nice for us to cozy up to at the end of the evening.

The master bedroom and bath were perfect for us and very comfortable. We have rented many places near Mt Hood over the years and this one is at the top of the list - we can't wait to come back.
