Fred is an artist specializing in wood joinery and sculpture. Several of his pieces are featured at the property. LaDene is in her 29th year (2012) as a public school teacher and is currently teaching 1st grade. We enjoy music, sailing, and about anything to do with H20.
It is a quiet relaxed community on the South Arm of Lake Chalevoix, where the water is warmer and calmer. This part of the lake is always calm enough so the little kids can swim, usually smooth enough to water ski, but still large enough for some exciting sailing. The Jordan river also adds canoeing the watersports menu. On top of that the unhindered access to Lake Michigan, means the world is at our doorstep. The condo is walking distance to the tennis courts, local ball diamond, ice cream and chicken joint, and the kids can't get into to much trouble around here.
What a great place to spend time with friends. Condo was clean and well equipped. Area is one of the most beautiful in Michigan and the USA. Tunnel of trees on M119 is a must do for all visitors. Legs Inn is a fun experience on a beautiful lakefront property (Lake Michigan). Bay View Inn has the best whitefish in the area as well as a nice setting. Weathervane served a good whitefish lunch. Shopping amongst local artists was fun. Petoskey stone jewelry and blown glass birds were some of our treasures to return home with.
Fred was great to work with. Everything was more than we expected. We will be back again.
We attended a wedding at Castle Farms ( 10 miles up M-66) and made a weekend of it. Although the weather did not cooperate we enjoyed the coziness of this condo. There were 6 adults and plenty of space ; even w/o utilizing the outside balcony. The kitchen is very well stocked with every imaginable small appliance, there is a new full size washer and dryer, plenty of plush towels ,large bathrooms, large kitchen; overall an extremely spacious 3 BR, 2 B condo. Master BR overlooks lake, other 2 BR are at the condo entrance with windows overlooking outside entry way. Very clean and fresh smelling upon entering. Rental/condo details all typed out and easy to follow.Parking is available on either end of the condo building and there is an elevator. For us personally the beds were a bit soft, but again, personal preference. Lots of nice touches ( showers have shampoo/conditioner/soap dispensers, binoculars to view lake activity, luggage cart etc.). Fred was a pleasure to work with and responded quickly to emails. We would not hesitate to recommend this condo to others. Thanks for accommodating us so nicely !
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful condo. The condo is fully equipped with every thing that you need and working with the owner was a pleasure. Very clean and quiet. Great location. Had a day to go to Mackinaw Island and other surrounding sights. Plenty of room for all our grand children and great-grandchildren to come and visit. Would not hesitate to go back.
We stayed at Fred and LaDene's condo with our two little boys and teenage cousin last summer. Everything was wonderful! It was so clean and tastefully decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed and it was great to be able to do laundry. The flat screen TV and DVD player were nice to have in the evenings. Fortunately the weather was great and we were able to enjoy the lake almost every day! We hope to stay there again sometime this summer.
Right on M-66 just north of East Jordan this location offers you easy access to East Jordan, Boyne City, Boyne Falls, Charlevoix, Petosky and Harbor Springs. The property is quiet, cozy elegant with a nice beach - perfect for wading & sheltered swimming are for the kids. The city tennis courts, playground, and beach is a 3 minute walk, or you can jump on the bikes for a 5 minute ride into town. Boat rentals are available at the local marina; canoe & kyak rentals a short walk away.
