Pleasant View Cottage sits on Pleasant Street, above the Lubec Narrows Channel overlooking the ocean channel where fishing boats come and go. This is a comfortable home built in Lubec's heyday when it was a thriving shipping and fish processing town. This spacious home has been completely refurbished. The large deck and dining area have views of the water and Campobello Island, Canada. The home has three plus bedrooms, and 2 full baths. The house is equipped with a washer and dryer, full kitchen with dishwasher, library/game room, office space, high speed Internet, free long distance phone calls, TV with cable service, and new deck overlooking the water with gas grill. The house is within walking distance of SummerKeys music workshops and concert series, shops, restaurants, and all in-town amenities.

The Lubec area is host to three state parks, a national wildlife refuge, and several nature preserves, all of which offer a variety of well maintained hiking trails. Lubec has several sandy beaches (rare this far Down East), bold coastal cliffs, coastal rain forest, wildflower meadows, and peat bogs. Lubec’s West Quoddy Head Lighthouse is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the country. Lighthouse lovers can visit 4 lighthouses within 10 miles of Lubec. Local whale, wildlife, and puffin tours offer the chance to observe nature up close, or you can rent a kayak or canoe to explore both salt and fresh water havens. You can also golf, visit local galleries and craft shops, attend concerts, and visit local festivals. The area is rich in history—from the first naval battle of the Revolutionary to Maine's own 'Cannery Row' which lined the waterfronts of the Downeast coast. You'll find it all here—rich history, spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife, and friendly people.

Additional information about rental rates

  • $650 - $800 week.
  • July, $750/wk. August 1 - 21, $800/wk; August 22 - October 31, $650/wk. Please add $50/wk rent surcharge and $50 additional damage deposit for pets or more than 6 people. A $400 per week refundable deposit ($450/week if you have pets), is due when you place your reservation. This deposit acts as a reservation deposit to secure your reservation until your stay begins. Once you arrive, it becomes a damage deposit during your stay. Your damage deposit will be returned shortly after your departure. Full payment of the rent plus tax is due at least 6 weeks before your stay will begin.
