Local Attractions: We have a waterpark, zoo (featured in the Animal Planet series The Little Zoo That Could), several amusement parks, good golf courses, in-shore and off-shore fishing, and more.
Nearby are two historic civil war forts, The National Naval Air Museum, Battleship Park (where you can tour a WWII battleship) several wildlife preserve areas and more.
There is a major outlet mall about 10 miles north in Foley.
The Wharf, a new development near us on the Intercoastal Waterway offers an array of restaurants, shops, a large Ferris wheel, movie theater, concert amphitheater and marina. They frequently have something going on including holiday celebrations, boat shows, etc and it is also just a nice place to walk around.
Gulf Shores is very family friendly and laid-back.
Fishing/Boating: We have a pier with boat slips and a boat launch in case you want to bring a small boat or jetskis! We also have good fishing and crabbing from our pier or a few hundred yards East at Lagoon Pass. The lagoon has speckled trout, croakers, flounder and more.
There is a local company that will deliver a nice pontoon boat for the day, and another will bring kayaks for a day or a week.
For deep sea or in-shore fishing, there are a number of local marinas where you can charter a boat, rent a boat, or take a sightseeing or dolphin cruise.
Golf:
Gulf Shores and the immediate area have a number of courses that are open to the public. We have 9 signature courses within a 20 minute radius.
Kiva Dunes is acclaimed as one of the top courses in the state. The Gulf State Park offers one of the most reasonably priced courses and several have afternoon special rates. Less than 10 minutes away are Craft Farm's two Arnold Palmer courses.
