A wonderful place -cool ,calm and collected!

I have just returned from a family holiday in California ,the first week of which we spent in this wonderful property in gorgeous Calistoga.
From start to finish this house was a superb base for a wonderful week .The house has everything one could need -and more!
Wonderful huge pool ,hot tub ,excellent garden space and total privacy and yet set amongst the comfort and safety of houses close by .We awoke in the mornings to a swim and watched the sun rise over the close by hills .Within hours we were charmed and won over.Within days we felt at home (if only!!) .More than enough garden furniture ,three outside tables ,and wonderful veranda space gave us everything we looked for .
Inside -the quality continued.Excellent kitchen equipment,well stocked with all the kitchen requirements one could ever have .The well stocked fridge and cupboards ensured that we did not have to rush out immediatly for small essentials.Our kids and i played pool before going out every night ,and sometimes after lunch .
To have a computer available was brilliant allowing us to check up restaurant reviews,plan trips and even catch up on the news back home.(we smiled guiltily when we checked the bad weather back in ireland every morning!!)
The bedrooms were comfortable ,charming and ideal .
A little walk into town in the morning gave us access to one of the friendliest communities of people it has ever been my pleasure to meet.Superb restaurants ,great coffee houses and wonderful collection of shops gave us plenty to see ,do and engage with .
And in such connectivity for all of those other wonderful napa valley towns.
The owner Robert was a gentleman to deal with from start to finish and i have no doubt that he and I will be talking again for we will most deffinitely be back!
To sum it all up in a word???.......superb .
I felt that i was sharing someones home and not merely a vacation property.
I would thoroughly recommend this property -and would be convinced that a good time would be had by all .
As i said in my intro -its cool ,calm and oh so collected.

A gem ,and we were delighted to be allowed share its lustre.

Until next time ....we look forward .

Great House

First Time to Wine Country South Shore, Massachusetts

Our stay was the week of October 18, 2009. Upon our arrival the inside of the house was spotless, any question we had regarding the pool, hot tub, lights, computer, etc. were already answered within the instructions on the counter. The weather wasn't quite warm enough to use the pool, but we did get to enjoy the patio area, it's one of the most gorgeous pool areas we've ever seen. The hot tub was sparkling! It was absolutely wonderful. There are some great restaurants down the street (within 2 miles) the two of us ate breakfast at Cafe Serphina every morning for less than $25 - it was wonderful!

The only unfortunate part was the house was to big for just the two of us, we only lived in half of it! It is a great house for two or three couples (plenty of room) since there is a pool table, fuseball, and the outdoor amentities. Having access to the computer to search our next day's ventures, restaurants or wineries to visit was very convenient.

If you have the oppurtunity to visit wine country, this rental is the way to go. Between the professionalism of Robert and Joanna, as well as, the pride they take in their property, it really makes for a relaxing vacation in a wonderful setting!

Calistoga Vacation

We really enjoyed our experience at this home. Living in the fog in San Francisco we need a little summertime. We also wanted a place where our adult children (28, 27, 25x2) would join us. We are a family of game players so the pool table and bocce ball quart added plenty to do along with the pool. We used the town a bit but mostly hung out at the house and relaxed. The pool setting is beautiful and the owners are landscaping for privacy, the pool was nice and warm for long soaks and floats. The electric cover made covering the pool a snap. The owner were always available although we really did not need them as everything was taken care of. We are already looking to return next year and would recommend this house to others.

Beyond Expectations

We have stayed in well over a dozen properties over the years and this home is at the top of our list. From the well appointed and tastefully decorated rooms to the splendid hot-tub, our group loved every moment we were at home. Everything was provided, even a bag of Pete's Coffee! Our only regret was that we didn't have more time at home to enjoy all that it had to offer like the well equipped kitchen and pool/foosball tables. The owners attention to detail and response to their guests is first rate. When we return to Napa, we will stay that this wonderful home again.

We really enjoyed the spacious and private setting and the home was very comfortable. The swimming pool was great for relaxing after a rough day of wine-tasting. We bought food in town and cooked several meals at home on the grill, but we also ate at some of the restaurants downtown Calistoga. Brannan's restaurant was very nice. We would recommend this to friends and may quite possibly stay at this property again.
