'Birchfield' sits in the foothills of the Berkshires amidst a vast forest preserve in northern Litchfield County. A private beach on a quiet, pristine lake is only a short walk away through a flower-filled field. This is the place you will really get away from it all. Includes use of private beach, raft and canoe. Numerous hiking trails. Main house and separate sleeping cottages have beds for 8-10 people. Ideal for family holidays or couples' retreats. The Main House includes living room with fireplace; dining room; large, farm-style kitchen with modern appliances; 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 single); 1 full bath, half bath, plus shower room; washer and dryer; large furnished screened-in front porch overlooking the field. Three separate cottages (the Studio, the Cellary and the Flippery), each with their own half-bath, have beds for up to 6-8 more people (2 double beds, 3 singles and a bunk-bed)

The town of Norfolk, a 10 minute drive away, is a scenic New England town with a central village green, historic buildings, antique and gift shops, and town library. Norfolk is also the home of the Yale Summer Music School's Chamber Music Festival held in July and August. Birchfield is a 21/2 hour drive from New York City and Boston, 30 mins from Great Barrington and 45 mins from Tanglewood and everything the Berkshires has to offer.
