The Red Diner GUest House Is a cozy two (2) bedroom cottage with the charm of a yesteryear diner. Our retrofitted diner sleeps five comfortably, complete with full bath and kitchen facilities. It is located on the grounds of a rustic farm in the heart of the lakes region of Vermont, only minutes away from downtown conveniences.

Great family spot when you want to relax!

Like the prior review, I hesitate to share what a great spot this is. But the Bach's should get credit for their great hospitality. This guesthouse is off the beaten track but still so near a lot. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the spot, the access to a great swimming hole and walking/biking loop, and the chickens. It was great for my 5yo and 8yo sons. While away from the property, we spent time at the Poultney memorial day parade (very touching), kayaking Lake St Catharine, and then playing disc golf at Okemo on a beautiful day. Poultney is just 5 miles away and has a grocery store, ice cream shop, pizza, etc. There really isn't much else you need when on vacation in Vermont!

A Great Getaway At A Great Price!

I've been meaning to write this ever since our wonderful stay this summer. My wife and I had mixed emotions about the diner theme. We're so glad we decided to book the week! The retro decor was a lot of fun and the Bach's couldn't have been nicer. There was plenty of space for my wife and 9 year old son with all the amenities needed to eat in when we chose to. My son also befriended the family chickens, and having them run to us every morning for scraps of bread added to the Vermont charm. The location is great, close to Lake St. Catherine and the swimming hole right down the road was a blast, very refreshing! We would definitely stay here again spring, summer or fall.

Great time!!

We wen for a holiday weekend and was so wonderful there, close to a beautiful lake, a short distant from charming little towns; the family that on the farm are very sweet and make us feel there very comfortable. Decoration is very cool, and my son of 11 yrs. have all the fun there. Nature with: river, birds mountains, yard sale everywhere. Away from the city. Just great!!,

Great place at a great price

We loved our four-day getaway at the Red Diner Guesthouse! What a treat to stay in a converted diner. The owner did a great job of updating it and leaving the key elements that made this place so special. The kitchen and counter were awesome, the living area is small but comfortable, the whole place is clean and tastefully decorated. Even comes with linens and towels so you don't have to lug your own! The owners chickens like to visit which my kids enjoyed immensely. Best swimming hole I've ever been in is just a short walk down the street. Almost considered not writing a review because I'm tempted to keep this secret spot all to myself but that just wouldn't be fair.
