Rooster Cottage is centrally located for quick access to the Volcanoes National Park. It is located in Volcanoes Golf & Country Club which is just a short 2 minute drive to the Park entrance. Our general location is commonly referred to as Volcano, Hawaii, on the Big Island.

You may rent all your equipment there. Also, Rooster Cottage is within walking distance to Volcano Winery. Take a tour of the winery or attend a wine sampling while you are there.

The streets are very ample and you are able to go out for a stroll any time of the day or night. Great place to jog, ride bikes or just tour the neighborhood on a long walk. You will love sitting on the lanai at Rooster Cottage in the morning while sipping your hot coffee! Great place to sit for an afternoon glass of Volcano wine!

Rooster Cottage is the best

This is such a great place to stay:
-Right next to the park entrance
-Quiet, comfortable and you can tell that the owner has gone out of her way to make the stay terrific for guests.
-Winery right down the street.

Our family had such a great time here and the owner was so helpful and accomodating. The house was terrific - such a good experience, makes you wonder why anyone would ever stay in a hotel. We will definitely be back.

Lovely home close to volcano

Rooster Cottage is a lovely home perfectly situated to explore the myriad wonders of Volcano National Park. Patricia was extremely efficient and helpful. Rooster Cottage will again be our choice on our next trip to Hawaii.

Wonderful

Great location, close to entrance to Volcano NP. Home is spacious, beautifully appointed, and spotless. Wonderful place to relax with the Japanese style bath and great bath and body products. Kitchen well stocked with everything you need to cook your meals. Nice touches include bottle of wine from nearby winery and banana bread. Bonus was the high quality art work displayed throughout the house.
Owner was easily accessible and helpful in responding to questions about the house.
We would definitely recommend this house to friends and family.

Perfect House

Our stay in Volcano revolved around touring Volcanoes National Park and this house was perfectly located. It is also minutes away from Volcano Village which has some great restaurants.
The master suite is like a four star hotel. The rest of the house is beautifully decorated, clean and well maintained. Unlike most rental houses I've stayed in, this one provided luxury bath products.
On our arrival, there was banana bread, wine and coffee waiting for us.
Patricia, the owner, was very pleasant to deal with and accommodating.
I think anyone would be happy staying in this house. The decor and furnishings are a step above most rentals.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Rooster Cottage Review, April 2010

My family of six has made annual visits to the Volcano area for several years and we've stayed in a variety of rental homes. All have been fairly nice. Within these, however, Rooster Cottage is a standout. Everything, down to the plumbing fixtures and cookware is to a high standard and has been thoughtfully chosen. The beds have terrific mattresses. The cedar sauna is a great way to relax after a hike. I could go on, but don't want to bore the reader.
To cover the "review tips": Yes, the description and photos were accurate (and actually didn't do the place justice). Yes, the home was very clean and there was even fresh banana bread and flowers waiting for us. Yes, the owner followed up our rental agreement with easy to follow directions and a map of the location. We keep coming back to the volcano because it's always changing. There is always something new to see and learn and do. We cooked all of our meals at the Cottage, which was a pleasure because it has a good kitchen. Check out the farmers market on Sunday mornings!

We are slowly finding rental homes in our favorite places that are good enough to book annually. I am happy to include Rooster Cottage among these.
