The description of the property was accurate. It was easy for us to get to surrounding attractions. The homeowner has done a nice job of having alot of things for the kids to play with. The pool and backyard would have been great for a summer vacation. Nicely decorated and very inviting. The pool was well maintaned although it was not heated and the hot tub was empty (?repairs?). We were sad the hot tub was not working as we all are used to hot tubing nightly. I do think the homeowner has tried to make this a nice home, however it really could have been cleaner. The bathrooms were not clean. Toilet in master bathroom was not clean nor was the shower. Mirrors in main bathroom had water spots on them. Dead ants in the bathtub. I think the maid was on vacation. The homeowner and 2 high school kids were cleaning when we checked in. Oher than having a better cleaning service the only things we would recommend to the homeowner is a bigger hot water heater and more bed linens (mattress pad covers over the plastic). Had things been cleaner I probably would not have complained about anything.
Owner's Response: As I do often, I allowed these folks to bring their belongings in early, prior to the maid service. Unfortunately, they used that to inspect the home before it was cleaned. The two "high school kids" were my 17 and 18 year old sons who frequently help me, particularly with the yard and tropical shrubbery. I personally did all the remodeling and decorating with the help of all four of my sons. I spend a lot of time making my home a unique Disney tropical experience.
The pool has a fantastic heater that, as with any vacation home, is available for an extra charge. The hot tub did malfunction and has long since been replaced. The hot water heater is plenty large enough and never had a single problem accomodating groups much larger than this one. I have two to three extra sets of linens for all the beds in the hall and bedroom closets. Had these folks brought up concerns while they were here, reasonable or not, I would have bent over backwards to make them happy.
My home is beautifully decorated, fun, comfortable, clean and well stocked. 99.9% of the folks who stay here, enthusiastically love it and are competely happy. I have a steady stream of repeat vacationers.
