Family fun abounds!:
York Beach has been named by Family Fun magazine as one of America's top family vacation destinations. Money Magazine has also listed York as one of its most affordable vacation spots. York's Wild Kingdom is a small zoo and amusement park located in the center of downtown York Beach. The Kittery Outlet Stores (140 shops) are 8 miles south. York boasts more than 2 miles of sandy beaches with lifeguards, raft and umbrella rentals, and bath houses. Festivals and entertainment including the world famous Ogunquit Playhouse---summer stock theatre at its finest, it is truely Broadway at the Beach! Boardwalk with basketball courts, free concerts at water's edge, well-equipped playground, and video arcade all add to the family fun---there's something here for every age group!
Convenient services!:
From an internet cafe to high end copy and fax services, your business is always close enough to manage if duty calls. Feel confident that we have a first class hospital and other medical services, including eye care and pharmacies, which are available for those unexpected emergencies. York has a full service supermarket, local lobster pounds, and diverse culinary experiences (from fried clams to duck on a plank to the most delicious sweet barbeque steak tips you'll ever eat!) that will enhance your experience at York Beach.
We make every effort to comply with all requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act,
the Maine Human Rights Act, and the Fair Housing Act. No pets allowed except service animals with valid documentation.
History and Culture:
The Museums of Old York boast the oldest jail in America, and several other historic buildings which are open to the public. York has an annual Decorator Showhouse, Celebrate Maine Festival, and Harvestfest, which include an ox-roast, bean hole beans, fireworks, juried crafters and more. Eat local---purchase native produce, eggs, cheese, as well as artisan breads, baked goods, and fresh flowers--- Saturdays and Tuesdays at our Farmer's Market. And don't forget to be here for Christmas in July, when we light up the Nubble lighthouse with thousands of twinkling white lights. Santa arrives on his bright red fire truck to flip the switch ---and by renting Wits End, you'll have a front row seat!
Golf:
The Ledges Golf course is rated among the best in America, and if you like the Scottish influence, a St. Andrews type of course can be found at The Links at Outlook Farm. But don't stop there! The revered Cape Neddick Golf Club has been a staple of the seacoast for half a century or more....limited public hours are available. If you've played these three, then you've played the best the seacoast of NH and Maine have to offer!
