This gated estate, surrounded by a natural stone wall, boasts an elevation of 2200 feet, with expansive views in every direction, and is adjacent to the Mt. Diablo/East Bay Regional Park. It is located in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area, with easy access to San Francisco, the Livermore/Napa/Sonoma wineries, Santa Cruz, Monterey, and Carmel. We are within 2 hours of the historic gold mining towns of the Sierras; and 45 minutes from the extensive Delta system offering all water sports. Mountain bikes and riding horses are available should you want to ride two-by-two along the 1000 miles of parkland trails with majestic views of California. This 4200 square foot mountain home has a gourmet kitchen; the bathrooms are tumbled marble. The house features extensive use of redwood, hardwood flooring, marble, stone, and brick; all the upgrades. Very private, yet just 10 minutes from the freeway, this 16-acre gated retreat has to be to experienced to be believed.

Our family rented this vacation home in July 2009. The description and pictures on the website did not hold true. The hottub was broken, the gas grill did not work properly, there was no computer available, no internet access, and the kitchen had old and expired spices that could not be used. The house did not have any curtains or blinds on any of the windows...not even in the master bathroom. There was no comfortable patio furniture to sit on...no chairs, no table and no umbrella for shade. The owner never returned my phonecalls, and withheld a large amount of our refundable security deposit without providing any proof or receipts accounting for the extra charges that she claimed us for. I would not recommend this property!

Glorious!!!

Nothing can compare to the outstanding visit we experienced when our family rented this home for our reunion in the East Bay. Both the home and the private surrounding grounds were immaculate, spacious and elegant.
The owner bent over backward to be certain everything was perfect. She obviously cared about our comfort and made certain we were happy with the accomodations.
I certainly would recommend this home.

Absolutely AMAZING!!

This home was more than I could have imagined in so many ways. From the rolling hills the view was exquisite, the peaceful ambiance of the ranch and house made my vacation seem as if I were in some exotic land far away. Just a short ride down the hill I was "back in civilization" and enjoyed the towns surrounding.
The owners and manager made me feel welcome, but did not intrude. If questions came up they were handled and I was made to feel that this WAS my home during my stay.
The pricing was also excellent considering the fat that there are 8 in my family. I could not have stayed at Motel any cheaper.
I recommend this rental highly.

Beautiful, comfortable unique home.

Our family of five from South Wales in the UK were lucky enough to stay on this unique (for us anyway) private ranch for four nights in August 2008. The house we rented is not shown here but is of equal calibre. The ranch has horses grazing nearby and I particularly enjoyed the humming birds drinking from special dispensers hung on the decking. The house, furniture etc is immaculate. We enjoyed several BBQ's there and the scenery is specatcular, especially in the mornings when the valley below is covered in fog - you really feel as though you are away from it all. These few nights, for us, were in the middle of a three week tour and either side we were in Vegas and Los Angeles, so it was really nice to have that 'quiet time' at this wonderful home.
Although we did not meet Cheryl, her lovely neighbour Faye made us feel very much at home. Thanks to both ladies.
