Chippeny Creek Lodge is a very secluded and very private lodge, when sitting on the lodge porch you will be looking up the whitefish river, this lodge is located 5 miles north of rapid river michigan in michigans upper peninsula and is approximately 15 miles from escanaba michigan. I f you are looking for a quiet place to stay then this is the place for you, there are also 3 casinos within 1 hour as well as fine dining within 20 miniutes or just stay at the lodge and use the fully equipped kitchen for your conveinence the choice is yours!!!

Rapid River is home to little bay de noc which is world renowned for some of the best walleye fishing , perch, pike and bass. This area also is great for snowmobiling, wildlife viewing, spring canoeing, skiing, as well as casinos for gambling or fine dining at some of the areas restaurants.

Notes: Chippeny Creek Lodges guests are normally left alone to relax and do as they please , cook inside using the fully equipped kitchen or outside on the gas grill , or go out to eat at the areas numerous bars, fine restaurants or small restaurants. The lodge kitchen table sits 10 guests at one time, also their is a fire-pit ring for bon fires we will cut fire wood for an additional charge if you choose. This lodge was built in 1999. Chippeny Lodge also accepts Visa and Mastercard for credit card customers.

Chippeny Creek Lodge was built in 1999 and has a breath taking view of the whitfish river, it is a very secluded lodge with lots of wildlife and very quiet surroundings, once you enter the gate to the liodge the road is one mile long, you will pass thru forest and some open fields, then come upon the lodge and the whitefish river.

Chippeny Creek Lodge is an excellent place to stay for fisherman wanting to fish the river or go to little bay de noc. tho catch walleye or perch Snowmobilers can access the upper peninsulas groomed trail system right from the lodge.

Ski: Gladstone is the nearest location for downhill skiing.

Golf: Escanaba and gladstone both have excellent golf courses.

Absolutely wonderful place!

This place in my opinion goes so far beyond the pictures it amazes me! Very, very secluded, nicely appointed, and the swing porch instantly melted all my 'city' tension. The Whitefish river was beautiful and our dogs enjoyed it immensely. We will definately be visiting again, maybe even this year!

A great getaway!

The description of the property on the website was exactly as we found it. It was clean and beautifully maintained. We have highly recommended this property to everyone we know.
My elderly parents were with us and they enjoyed themselves immensely.
We loved the Sandhill lighthouse. It was a wonderful place for a picnic. We really enjoyed watching and photographing the monarch butterflies that were there

Loved the place

The description given was quite accurate. The property was clean and well maintained, and it was a pleasure to work with the owner and their on-site management staff. Plenty of room, so a great value for the dollar besides. The only criticism I can think of is that with only one bathroom the men sometimes end up using the great outdoors ;-)

The river was wonderful, caught a few bass; the resident bald eagles were way cool.

One day we took a canoe down the river; it was shallow in places but generally no problem, and you could certainly go all the way to the bay if you wished. We dropped a car down along the river almost to the bay--just parked it along the road--then drove back and paddled down from the lodge. It took several hours of easy paddling. As a bonus there was a nesting pair of ospreys about halfway down.

We also enjoyed the cycling--I brought a mountain bike and found some really nice logging-type trails that I assume are used by hunters on ATVs. I also brought a road bike, and did some nice rides around the area. It's pretty windy in places though--couldn't quite make it out to the lighthouse from the beach on the bay. That was a tough ride but pretty and nice, with a great return given it was mostly downhill with a 15-20 mph tailwind on the way back!

When we wanted a little civilization, Escanaba is pretty close and has about anything you'd need. btw I highly recommend the Trenary Toast (hope I'm spelling that right), a great cinnamon toast snack.

All in all, a very nice, secluded (saw one canoe go by on Sunday) location, and a vacation to remember. I'd definitely recommend it to a friend.
