This beautiful 4-bedroom ocean front house is one of the only ocean front homes available for rent on peaceful Plum Island. The house features an expansive open air deck on 2 sides of the house; with nearly 500 sq feet of deck there is plenty for room for family and friends to enjoy the sunlight or the beautiful sunsets. The house features 4 bedrooms, 2 living rooms (up stairs and down stairs) and a kitchen dining area and full bath. The upstairs living room has breath taking ocean views. The room is 12 x 32 feet and has vaulted ceiling, wood stove and two 4x8 foot picture windows to view the ocean. The house has 2 bedrooms on the 1st floor, one has king bed, one has queen bed. The kitchen, dining room and living room and full bath are all located on the 1st floor. Off the dining area the door opens to the deck with BBQ grill and ample deck furniture. There is plenty of off street parking.

Deep sea fishing, kayak rentals, whale watch tours, harbor tours and private fishing charters are all offered on Plum Island or in downtown Newburyport. The Parker River National Wildlife Refuge lies at the southern end of Plum Island it offers world class bird watching opportunities and short hikes for the casual visitor.

The pictures for this cottage don't do it justice. It's very roomy & comfortable with a gorgeous view of the ocean from the 2nd floor living room. Our entire family enjoyed staying there. Due to the beach erosion it was a tough climb back to the cottage from the beach for anyone not in good shape.

Plum Pick on Plum Island

We already knew how much Plum Island has to offer,* but lacked a way to share it with the family. This home had all we needed -- right on the beach. We loved the view of the dune and surf from upstairs, and had all the space we needed with four bedrooms and two living rooms. The house was clean and quite well-outfitted -- although towels were not among the linens provided (only bed linens). We certainly look forward to the possibility of returning -- and hope you who are reading this won't be competing with us for a time!


* Namely: a fabulous beach, fantastic national wildlife refuge with great birding (complete with interpretive centers nearby), good eating at Mad Martha's Cafe and Bob's Lobster, and lots of shopping in Newburyport.
