Come listen to the bands while tasting the local wines (See local vineyards and events). Walk to Southold Village or Beautiful Bay Beaches or just relax on your own patio while overlooking green lawns and mature trees.
On the sought after 'Bayside' of the North Fork In the heart of the North Fork Wine Country and beautiful beaches we have a 1840's home with a furnished attached cottage available for weekend's, week or month rental. Apartment has small eat in kitchen, bath, living room and 2 bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen size bed the other a full size bed. Separate entrance with own lawn / patio area with lawn chairs. Newly furnished with Sat TV (Including HBO). Both bedrooms have new window AC units. Beautiful property with century old lilacs.
The place looked great. The landscaping also looked really nice and everything was perfectly in bloom. We always have a great time being out there. Thanks again, looking forward to next month.
We received a warm welcome from Buddy, the resident dog. Perfect accommodations for a couple or small family. Nice residential neighborhood. Close to wineries and shops. Property was clean and well maintained. Bathroom could use some updating, but was functional. Small nicely updated kitchen. Wireless internet service was a great amenity. The caretaker was friendly and attentive to our needs. The owner was very professional and was quick to answer questions and return our security deposit. Be sure to stop by Founders Tavern in Southold. Braun Seafood in Cutchogue is a great place for takeout!
After a few days in NYC we wanted to spend some time on Long Island before heading back to Germany. And we can say that this cottage was just the place to be on this fabulous island. The appartment was clean and tidy. It had everything we needed for our 5 day stay. The two bedrooms were separated from eachother and at the opposite ends of the appartment. This was perfect as our kids (2 and 4 years old) could be for themselves and especially around "bedtime" we would sit outside still knowing what was going on.
But what really made this stay worth 5 stars was the tremendous hospitality of the owners, Mark and Mona. They did not treat us as guests but rather than "neighbors". Before we even got to the point to ask for anyhting they offered their help on everthing we would possibly need. More than once did we benefit from their experience as locals. No guide in the world would have helped us more to see and enjoy this island. And by the way, they are really nice and warmhearted peoples sharing their life with their guests without being to pushy. We felt like home at this cottage and we would certainly stay at their place on our next visit to Long Island!
A great "Dankeschön" from Germany!
Thanks so much. The apartment was perfect for our stay and located very close to the family properties on Laurel Avenue. It couldn't have worked out any better.
This is the fourth time we stay at Mark's & Mona's apartment and time flies in such a wonderful place.
They are very nice and always available for any request.
The house is so beautiful and the apartment is very comfortable and clean. We love the beautiful landscape around the house and the exterior patio with barbecue grill.
The house is very well located close to several beaches, wineries and farms.
I highly recommend this place!!
We Cannot wait to come back!!
easy booking. swift refund. pictures not totally accurate. We have lived in a 1700s home so booked with our eyes wide open. With that said, and although I assume has been inspected, did not feel comfortable with some items. For example, smoke alarm not operating. and only one that we could find. given the age of the home, there should be more. some electric outlets did not work and many extension cords used to "update' the service. carbon monoxide alarm sitting on a shelf - no blinking light. only source of hear was electric wood stove. kept two front rooms warm, back two and bathroom were pretty darn cold. we did use the ceiling fan. windows don't open easily or at all, leaving only egress out the one door. place clean on arrival "broom" clean. there were no basic paper good. on roll there were two sheets left of paper towel, on toilet paper roll, maybe enough for two uses. basic soaps, in bathroom, very very basic - three tiny Motel 6 versions. in kitchen, for dishes there was a lick and a promise, watered down much already, left for use. In cabinets there was cereal left, coffee so dried when you turned it upside down it stuck to bottom of jar. someone left an empty yogurt container in the bathroom pullout drawers. Did anyone clean? blinds are broken and slick, with thick dust. curtains are very dirty and dusty. could hear people walking and talking upstairs and next door. no privacy in bathroom at all. blinds don't keep it all out. Place has potential, good location. nice grounds. close to everything, and good price. But this was very, very basic. would be happy to pay more for some nicer amenities. what is with VRBO and " basic paper goods" this is second place we have rented that had no toilet paper. Truly, is that such a small thing to ask for. we called the owner and left message there was no second key has promised in the apt. we wanted to let him know that personallyl. but no call back. also needed some more wknd specific info on data. again no call bak
Everything was well described and as written. We had two wonderful weeks there and felt like home! If you have children and would like to enjoy beach, nature and silence than the WBH is definitely the place to go. Fancy Restaurants and Bar's in the Hamptons are just a few clicks away and in North Fork County you will find places which fit to family requirements perfectly.
