Experience our Tapawingo (a North American word for A Place of Peace or Rest). Surrounded by conservancy land, only 3 blocks from the Tahoe City 'Y' and 2 long blocks from the lake, this ideal location is just minutes from Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows ski resorts. Tapawingo allows you to experience Tahoe to its fullest - access to the Tahoe Rim trail, snowmobiling, cross country skiing at Paige Meadow, sledding on our private road or at Granlibakken Resort, quadding, and hiking are conveniently located right out our back door. Snowmobiles are available for an additional fee. The 'bear cottage' has tumbled marble bathrooms, slab granite and maple cabinets throughout, state-of-the-art stainless appliances, 3 televisions (2 of which are high-definition), satellite, home theater surround-sound, copper fireplace, gas fireplace in one bedroom, central heat and hardwood floors. Several decks make for wonderful outside entertaining, as does the Jacuzzi hot tub, which offers total privacy.

My husband and I, and our two adult sons ,spent a wonderful week at Tapawingo! Quiet and restful with all of the things one needs for a much need get away. The house was spotless when we arrived. We love this area and bring our bikes to use as our primary mode of transportation, Tapawingo is perfect for that! We had room to spread out and to enjoy all of the views from the many windows. I bought some birdseed to fill the feeders and totally enjoyed watching the chipmunks come, in tandem, to steal the treats! Thank you, Cheryl, for making our vacation memorable!!

My family rented this cabin in Tahoe City for our early summer vacation, and we could not have been happier with our decision.
The cabin was beautifully designed with the ammenities found in much more expensive rentals, and it was more comfortable than we expected for the price.
My kids loved the surrounding open areas, and my husband and I loved the private setting.
There was nothing we found that could be improved upon, everything was perfection.
I recommend this property to families, couples wanting a private, romantic setting, even to individuals looking for solitude, and a place to REALLY relax.

I cannot say enough how much we enjoyed our stay at this property. The cabin is lovely, private and beautifully decorated.
My kids enjoyed the hot tub and exploring the area, my husband and I enjoyed the convenient location, (the hot tub), and the peace and solitude.
The cabin is beautifully designed and decorated, even my crabby old mother loved this cabin.
We are vacation by owner travelors and have rented many properties, and this one stands head and shoulders above the rest.
You won't be dissapointed if you choose to rent this property!

My Husband and I wish to thank you for the most awesome experience at Tapawingo. You exceeded every expectation we could have had. The pictures do not do justice for the amazingly beautifully decorated home. We never could have wished for a more romantic setting. We hiked in the forest, enjoyed the sunset, and walked downtown. Our entire experience was beyond our wildest dreams. We were sad to leave but promise to be back every chance we can.
