WATERFRONT HOME ON VERY PRIVATE AND PRISTINE LAKE

Tuftonboro House Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms with queen beds, Loft with 2 twin beds, 1 full bathroom, sleeps 6

Listen to the loons at our ultra private, newly renovated waterfront Post & Beam home located in a small waterfront community in Tuftonboro NH. Only 10 mins to Wolfeboro, our home features pine floors, a newly renovated kitchen with stainless appliances/dishwasher, granite countertops, Franke sink, Parma faucet and breakfast bar, new full bath, large living room with high ceiling and exposed beams, deck overlooking water, fireplace, two bedrooms with queen beds and a large loft with 2 twin beds, all new beds and mattresses. We have a new 12x32 screened-in porch. High speed wireless internet, unlimited long distance phone in the U.S., HD cable tv, 32' HD flat panel TV w/dolby 5.1 surround sound, DVD/CD and iPod connection. We have a high efficiency washer/dryer and ping pong table in basement. Located on a quiet lake with super clean water (oligotrophic), 160' of pristine & private waterfront with over 15 ft depth of visibility. Fully furnished. No pets. Minimum 1 week rental.

About Camp Beech: Camp Beech, our waterfront home is a retreat away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. This is our vacation house. A neighbor best described the experience by saying 'time moves slowly on Lower Beach Pond'. The lake is very quiet, filled with wildlife (rainbow trout, brown trout, small and large mouth bass for fishing and a loon family we see daily). We even saw a moose swimming last year! Our home is great for relaxation, reading a book on the deck, lying in the sun or hammock, water sports or visiting North Conway's outlets for some retail therapy (35 mins away) and the town of Wolfeboro for fine dining or shopping (10 mins away). In addition to our shoreline property, there are 2 Hidden Valley Association beaches you will have access to which are great for family days, building sand castles and swimming, both are a few minutes walking distance. Bring your racket because there are tennis courts in the association. We hope you enjoy your stay and go home very relaxed!

About the Lake: Our home is located in a small, private community in Tuftonboro NH called Hidden Valley. Our vacation home is located on Lower Beach Pond which is a small Oligotrophic lake with a sandy bottom. Wikipedia defines these lakes 'to have low algal production and often have very clear waters, with high drinking-water quality.' There is a maximum of 10 horsepower boats on the lake. More common, however, to the water are canoes, sail boats, fisherman, and swimmers. Paddling around on surfboards is our preferred method of water transportation. What is yours? Swimming across the lake is also a fantastic way to start your day! We have a large floating cedar raft roughly 35-40ft from shore for relaxing and lying in the sun. Another attraction is Camp William Lawrence, a boys camp that my husband attended, see their website below. If the wind is just right, you can barely make out revelry at 7:30 AM signaling the beginning of another wonderful day for the campers and for you at Camp Beech

Special Referral Offer: If you have visited Camp Beach or are visiting this site and believe someone you know would like to rent our home, please email Carl. If your friends stay at our house during the off season, we will be happy to send you a $100 referral fee after their stay. Please make sure whoever is staying with us drops your name so we can thank you appropriately after their stay.

People who are often are able to stay with us during the off peak season would be those without school aged children and retirees. The nice thing about the off season, such as the beginning of June, or Mid September through October, is that many of the tourists have left, the lake is warm, the weather if often breath taking, and you'll be lucky to see ANYONE on the lake. It's just that quiet and private!

So if you fall into the category of being able to rent in the off season, take advantage of even greater peace and quiet.

Relaxing Lake House

  • 5 of 5
Our first time to New Hampshire for a friends getaway and we found ourselves on Lower Beech Pond for Memorial Day weekend. The house was exceptionally clean, fully stocked with all the essentials, and the beds were undeniably comfortable! Carl and Erika take very good care of this place and it shows.

Unfortunately, it rained pretty much our entire weekend but that didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves. We explored Wolfeboro, had lunch at El Centenario and grabbed coffee from Downtown Grill- the best Blueberry Cobbler Latte I have ever had! We even had to stop to grab lattes on our way to the airport they were so good. The sun came out for a little each day and we were able to sneak in two hikes. We hiked the Italian Trail on Mt. Shaw one day and the White Ledge Trail in the White Mountains another. The White Ledge Trail was an amazing hike with spectacular views from 2,000 ft elevation. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for some great adventure. My friend even carried her 9 month old baby the entire 4.2 miles! Make sure to pack lots of snacks and water.

We enjoyed cooking breakfast and dinner together at the cabin, using the grill, playing ping pong and we even played a very intense game of pictionary.

I can't imagine how much more beautiful this place would be with warm, sunny weather! We would love to come back one year and actually enjoy swimming in the lake.

Thanks Carl and Erika!

Perfect mix of Rustic and Modern!

  • 5 of 5
My family and I just returned from a great week at Camp Beach and we LOVED every minute of it! First - Carl and Erika are top-notch owners that clearly take pride in their property and being excellent hosts.

When we arrived the house was EXACTLY as described. Every room was clean and well-appointed.

The highlights for us were the screened-in porch (perfect any time of day or night), the loft and the vaulted ceiling in the living room. The shore provided ample activities for several days with swimming, fishing and kayaking (we brought ours).

As far the location - it is set away from anything busy and is very private. Most of the week felt like we were the only ones on the lake. Mornings are best if you rise early. I did hear reveille one morning coming from the camp nearby. It was a most relaxing time to sit and drink our coffee and admire where we were.

In terms of what we did - we are a family with 2 young children (3 1/2 and 1 1/2) and they had a BLAST! We visited StoryLand (1 hour), Clarks Trading Post (1 hour 20 minutes), Castle in the Clouds (20 minutes - HIGHLY RECOMMEND) and Weirs Beach (50 minutes). All were very enjoyable. There is a Hannafords Supermarket about 15 minutes away. Downtown Wolfeboro (10 minutes) is also extremely quaint with nice restaurants and a great way to see the big Lake (Winnie). We also took advantage of the beach down the road (a short walk) and met a couple of nice families that live nearby - it is a very nice community.

One very small thing to note - there is no microwave, so if you have little ones like us that rely on a microwave for a quick snack or meal, prepare yourself accordingly. Not a huge deal, but thought it was worth a mention.

Overall, I cant say enough good things about our experience from the owners to the property, itself. Thank you Carl and Erika!!

Picture Perfect Retreat

  • 5 of 5
Imagine a pristine lake, now image a deck that overlooks the lake with water so clear that you can literally see fish swimming to surface to eat their morning breakfast. Now, that alone is intoxicating but when you add the tastefully decorated home that Carl and Erika have put together, it makes for a truly relaxing retreat away from the world. That said, if you want to be plugged in, you can, as there is wifi throughout the house that you can use. However, our favorite thing was playing scrabble each morning with our cup and coffee and just taking our time in getting ready for the day. Whether hiking, fishing, leaf peeping, or shopping in North Conway -- there's no better place than to kick back but Lower Beech Pond. I kid you not, the water is pristine, an amazing little lake with an equally amazing little house that can comfortably sleep 6 people with the blink of an eye. We'll be back.

Perfect Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5
My husband and two children (7 and 9) and I spent a wonderfully peaceful week at this lake house and can't wait to go back. The house is adorable, the screened-in porch is great fun, the yard is beautiful, and the water is clear and inviting. When you're outside it smells like sunshine on pine needles. I can't recommend it highly enough -- just don't take my week!

A little gem...

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at this cottage while visiting my son who is working at a boys' camp outside Wolfeboro. The location is excellent; right on the pond with great swimming and a dock and raft for hanging out. Pond was just the right size and temperature for swimming and in the height of the summer, the higher elevation of this home provides additional cooling. A very relaxing retreat!

Notes:
Our kitchen is also newly renovated and we decided to add luxuries that are not often found in a typical rental at our price point. As mentioned earlier, we have granite countertops, new stainless appliances and plenty of cooking utensils. Our breakfast bar has 3 stools for casual dining. We have a dining area that can seat 4 comfortably for a nice candlelight meal. We also recommend using our dining table on the deck to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Our living area features a comfortable large couch with a reclining chair and some bean bags. We have an entertainment center with surround sound speakers. Our property is secluded from other homes offering lots of privacy. We have trees on both sides of the house down to the water and our shore front property is cleared with private swimming. There are 2 granite rock steps to the water and a sandy start for swimming - we recommend swimming to the rock across the lake. We have a small dock/mooring to tie a canoe or small sailboat.
