Unique, very private, lakeside rental just walking distance from all of Skaneateles’ village charms. This cottage is a rare find. This cottage has 50 feet of level lake front with a dock and boat mooring-perfect for boating, fishing, swimming, or just plain sitting and viewing. In addition to (2) first floor bedrooms-one master suite with two skylights- the cottage has a large living room with (13) feet of windows with an unobstructed view of the lake. A (100) square foot porch-two complete walls having sliding doors and screens-also offers unobstructed views of the lake. The dining room seats (6-8) and again a view of the lake. The bathrooms are clean and modern. The kitchen is clean, modern, has a dishwasher and a view of the lake. The laundry room -washer/dryer ironing board -is upstairs. The second bedroom has two new twin beds. This cottage is perfect for 1-4 people. The property is a 15 minute walk from downtown Skaneateles

Lake activity: This property is on the East side of the lake-best for afternoon sun. Access to a dock and chairs is included in the rental. There is a wonderful public launch across the lake.

Finger Lake Wineries: Our regional wines have come a long way. The Finger Lakes Wine Trail makes a great day trip.

Private escape with all the amenities

What more do you need? beautiful view. private setting. quick hop to shops and groceries. My husband and our twins enjoyed a lovely week at the cottage -- plenty of room to find a quiet corner to read as well as space to entertain (inside and out).

Private waterfront for the kids to play, no traffic, lots of room for our viszla to stretch her legs. It is really a lovely cottage. Having grown up in the area, it is a good shape and has everything you need - dishwasher, washer/dryer, internet access if you have work while way (or simply cannot be away).


Looking forward to our next visit -- I'm sure we'll become well known to the owners.
Owner's Response: It's always special when people who have lived in the area, in many cases who have grown up in Skaneateles, return to the area to visit family and friends. They make wonderful quests!

Private cottage - All the comforts of home

We were in the area to visit family and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We spent 9 glorious days there, and had the family over for several cookouts. Plenty of room for everyone, and the children loved fishing, lawn games, campfire at night for toasting marshmallows, etc.. They provide plenty of lawn chairs for relaxing and enjoying the sunsets over this beautiful lake. One nice touch was the TV cable with a DVR. When we were gone sightseeing, my husband was able to record his favorite football team, and watch it when we returned. :-) I might add that the beds were very comfortable affording us a good nights rest after busy, busy days. The owners live up at the top of the lane, and were available should any problems arise. However, we never once had to bother them. Everything was perfect. We feel very fortunate to have found such a wonderful place to stay when we're back there visiting.

I stayed in this house for one week in September. The house and property were just as described by the owner. The house was neat and clean. The best part was that the property was secluded and private. It felt as if we were the only people on the property, despite a caretaker up the road. It would be a great place for kids--the lakefront is close enough to enjoy, but not near enough for a child to wander off without being seen. I brought my 18 month old labrador along and he had the best time of any of us--it's very dog friendly. The property is also within walking distance to the village which was really nice. Skaneateles is a beautiful village on a lake that is truly a jewel. I would highly recommend this as a vacation destination.

Fabulous cottage, close to town.

My wife, 2-year old daughter, and I stayed in this wonderful cottage last summer and enjoyed it very much. It was very private, has a flat beach, and is very close to the village (all of which are hard to find with typical Skaneateles Lake cottages). The house itself had everything we needed: eat-in kitchen, large living room, and wonderful screened porch. The owners are wonderful and live up the lane, so they were always available for questions or help. It was the perfect place to enjoy a quiet, relaxing week on beautiful Skaneateles Lake!!
