Island Lopud is located in southern Croatia only 35 minutes from world famous city of Dubrovnik. It belongs to the group of Elaphite islands and is one of the most beautiful one in that region. Not only natural beauty, but Lopud has long history, medieval churches, monasteries, old villas, botanical gardens, parks... Lopud has great connection with mainland (8 times a day), and the most important no traffic. You will be woken up by fisherman's song, scream of seagull or just the sound of the waves. A 300 years charming old villa has been restored to a modern living standards. Three floors are offering great vacation place.

You will be provided with large bath towels, as well as beach ones, beautiful bedding, fresh flowers are changed every week. First and second floor have terrace. It is only 50 m from sandy beach. Bonus to all visitors staying a week is complementary fresh fish dinner and twice a week afternoon homemade cake with coffee or tea.

Beautiful villa, but be careful!

This is a beautiful house which has been tastefully modernised, and is situated on an idyllic island. We had a wonderful holiday but there were three issues that affected our stay. Firstly, we rented the whole house as we were three families and, as such, we expected to have the villa and garden to ourselves. However, as the maid was on site most of the time (actually sleeping in the laundry room) privacy was a problem. Indeed, the first night the owner asked if she, herself, could sleep in the ground floor sitting room overnight, which we agreed to in order to maintain good relations, but in hindsight it was a wrong decision. I would strongly recommend to future renters that they lay down their ground rules on arrival, then all should be well.
Also, in the house description it says "air conditioning", but there wasn't any in one of the bedrooms on the ground floor. It also says "internet access", and whilst not everyone wants this, our party included 3 teenage boys (who seem to be unable to function without it) and, at the end of our stay, we discovered that using the internet at the villa was not free, and we were landed with a hefty bill.
Having said that, the owner was very friendly and helpful, and even arranged a fantastic sunset catamaran trip for us - which was the highlight of the visit!
In my opinion this villa is an excellent holiday house but just be aware of these potential problems before you rent it!

Having recently stayed at the above property my initial thought was that it looked lovely, however it was soon apparent that whilst one would expect to have sole use of a property rental, in this case it became obvious that the owner was not to keen on this, her cleaner practically lived there and we had to complain when my elderly mother walked out into her terrace to find a stange man there, it turned out to be the cleaners son, in addition the air conditioning didnt work on the level my mother was using and although we mentioned this nothing was done to rectify it. It was a lovely apartment but if you are looking for holiday privacy then this is not the place to find it. One final thing during my stay I was closing the shower door and it shattered . I paid for the damage even though I dont know what else I was supposed to do I only closed it, however prospective renters should note the doors are made of toughened glass not safety glass so should they break they explode sending glass fragments everywhere.
