Darien is right on the Connecticut coast, so if you've ever wanted to spend the summer on the Long Island Sound, this is a stunning place... just a few moments to the beach and a fully-lifeguard private beach awaits, as well as idyllic sailing on the glistening Sound makes this a stunning area.
Antiques and the Village, plus Manhattan!:
Darien is also a quaint New England village, but with Manhattan sensibilities.... gourmet food, full supermarkets, cheese shops, wine boutiques, and high-end designer boutiques are all literally within walking distance. Plus if you'd like to actually go to Manhattan, the Metro North station is only a two minute walk away--- and you're in Penn Station in the heart of Manhattan in only 30 minutes, with No Car!
