Private, quiet, luxury upstairs flat for two only over main house located on the Grand Canal on Balboa Island in Newport Beach, California. Newly remodeled as the owners 'Island' getaway with luxury island style custom furnishings, 42' LCD Flat Panel HDTV with HD Cable, Stainless Steel Appliances, ceiling fans, Apple laptop computer and WIFI, and a beautiful deck with a retractable awning and great view of the Grand Canal.

One block to the quaint village shopping area with many restaurants and even a new small gourmet grocery, wine, and deli. A short walk to the Balboa Island Ferry to take you across the bay to the ocean beach and more shops and restaurants. No pets, not suitable for children, and no more than two persons. If your looking for a vacation home that is not your typical rental, this is it. This is our home away from home and we have furnished and equipped it as such.

Quiet, Peaceful Island Getaway.

This upstairs apartment has a great location on the Grand Canal. It is also very close to the main shopping strip where the restaurants are located - a two minute walk.

Excellent fitout and very comfortable for a couple. Quality appliances, renovated, modern bathroom and kitchen and all the starter condiments to allow meal preparation - either in the kitchen or BBQ on the deck overlooking the canal.

We found the owners very helpful and Tom (their onsite Manager) provides good assistance and all the local tips for a great stay.

Balboa Island is a delight for couples seeking a peaceful break in beautiful surroundings . We had great weather and enjoyed walking the island regularly and taking the ferry to the Peninsula. There are sufficient good restaurants on the island to meet all tastes - our favourite was Basilica (Swiss/French)..

We will return.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

We were so delighted with the quality and attention to detail provided by the owners for this beautiful apartment. It was like stepping into a page from Coastal Living. What a find! Not your normal rental, at all. Very clean, upscale and private. A perfect couple's retreat. We have already recommended it to friends, and plan to return next summer.

Owner's Response: When we remodeling the upstairs apartment a couple of years ago it was with the intention of using it ourselves and not renting it. We put in all new windows & doors, hardwood floors, crown moldings, new counter tops, tile bathroom, custom furniture and more then changed our minds and have allowed parties of two only into our "owner's hide-a-way". We have had some great guests from all over the world stay - it's great to share our special place on the Island.
