Quiet get-a-way only 90 minutes from NYC and a short bike ride to the Gunks for world class rock climbing. This contemporary cape is nestled in 5 wooded acres with resident fox, roaming wild turkey and red-tailed hawk. Set back off one of the prettiest roads in Gardiner with seasonal views of the Shawangunk ridge, even if you don't make it to Minnewaska State Park, you can still enjoy the hike down the driveway! The house has 3 bedrooms to sleep 6+ and 2 full baths -the private master bedroom has it's own shower and whirlpool tub. The kitchen is equipped with all new stainless appliances and an antique farmhouse table that seats 8 for entertaining. There is HDTV, hi-speed Internet, WiFi, plus free US calling. For an additional fee, you can add the whole upstairs which is a large 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment that sleeps 2-4 with it's own kitchen & living room plus central air. It's perfect for going on vacation with friends and still having privacy.

Notes: Please note that this rental as a 3 bedroom/2 bath is 1600 square feet on the ground floor. It sleeps 6 with room for one more at an additional charge. You can add the upstairs apartment (the entire second floor of the house) for an additional fee. It is 900 square feet with beautiful bamboo floors and central air. It has a kitchenette and living room in a large open studio space, a bathroom, a bedroom and is accessed from the living room downstairs or through the front door. The upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and there is a trundle daybed in the studio to sleeps 2-4 guests. As a whole house rental, upstairs and downstairs, the maximum is 10 people. The dining table downstairs can seat 8. As an additional option, there is a bistro table and 2 barstools available to seat people near the counter which divides the kitchen and dining area.

beautiful and peaceful getaway

This home really surpassed expectations. It is beautifully decorated and maintained with an understated elegance; nothing is cheap and worn as one is apt to find with vacation rentals. The property is quiet and secluded which makes it a pleasure to spend a quiet day reading and relaxing. Eva has left nothing to chance and was completely available to answer the couple of questions we had.The surrounding area is beautiful and offers many activities or simply a place to relax and rejuvenate.

I highly recommend it.

Pretty house!

We rented the house for July 4th weekend with our friends and we loved it! It is really well stocked with all the essentials - she even has an apron! Eva was efficient, prompt, and was very patient with all our queries, etc. The house is very tastefully decorated, superbly maintained and it feels like being at someone's home. If I were to pick 1 drawback, it is that it doesn't have any view of the Gunks (mountains) as it is tucked away from the road; however this gives you more privacy, not that it is an issue in this quaint little town. We were nervous about the rule book and forgetting guidelines specified but so long you are clean and courteous I don't think it is an issue.
Owner's Response: Visit us when the leaves are down and enjoy the wonderful seasonal view of the Gunks ridge from the house!

Fabulous House for West Point Graduation

We rented this house for 8 days for our son's graduation from West Point. It was beyond our expectations. Everything was perfect; everything worked. It had every possible amenity (cable tv, internet, phone, washer, dryer, dishwasher, garage, picnic table, large fridge,)

The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are large, the appliances are all new, the furniture is new, the linens were plush and new,..... The owner was very accomodating and very professional.

I wish I had known about it during the last 4 years. There is so much to do in the area.

We had a fantatic time at this house this weekend. It was such a great house...extremely clean, beautifully decorated and close to everything. Not to mention fully stocked with things you may forget like ziplock bags. A great place for a relaxing vacation in the mountains.

Beautiful house, beautiful area

This is a beautifully decorated, very clean, spacious and comfortable house on a private lot. The area is wooded and pretty, great for walking and biking. Deer abound (and may bound across the driveway, so drive carefully!) The house is a short drive from Minnewaska and Mohonk, both great places for hiking. All bedrooms are nicely sized, and the upstairs great room is quite large- made a great place for the teens in our group to hang out. The house had everything we needed. It was a pleasure dealing with the owner, Eva, who provided lots of details about directions and places in the area.
