Aquatika True Beachfront Luxury Villa

My family and I stayed here in February 2010. It was a wonderful experience. Words can not explain how beautiful this place is. Quiet, Clean, Peaceful and safe The beach is just a few steps away from the condo.

Condo was exactly as described and pictured. The owner (Arthur) was very helpful. He met us at a local market next to the airport to deliver the keys and provided easy driving directions to the condo.

This was our first visit to Puerto Rico. Beautiful island. Beautiful and very helpful people.

My sons, age 12 and 16 had a blast. They were occupied with all the various games and water toys available in the condo.

We visited El Yunque, El Morro, Old San Juan (stayed there 3 days) at the Sheraton Old San Juan right next to the cruise ship dock. We walked a lot in old San Juan, however there is a publc "free" train that tours the old city area.

On the way to the condo the neighborhoods may seem a little questionable but we had no problems. Once we got to the condo the staff was very attentive and helpful.

We stayed here for 5 days with our Son, his wife and baby. It was great for us, easy access to ocean and all the pools. New gas grill on the balcony...and this unit is one of the few with a view of the ocean. The resort is long with the pools in the middle and parking on the outside but there are only 2 buildings looking at the ocean. The Beach is only a couple of hundred yards wide but basically private for the resort. Restaurant at the club house open Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10 to 8 but we didn't try it so can't comment on the food. The only negative about the facilities is that the Water slide is only open on weekends.

Regarding the condo...just great. Equipped with everything you need, pots, pans, linens, towels, etc. Kitchen had a variety of random foods and condiments people had left, not the bare shelves you usually find, so we used a few things and left a few things. Cable TV had many channels including HD, X-box with a bunch of games, a number of CDs, etc. Wifi available but you need to get the code from the MacDonalds. Plenty of pool toys so don't bring those. Pack n play for the baby. Bring your beach towels. No drawers or closet available in the Master bedroom is the only problem there.

Location is fine unless you are interested in casinos and nightlife. The Rainforest, Luquillo beach & kiosks and Pinones beaches are a short drive. Drive down Hwy 187 along the coast to the Pinones beaches, beautiful drive and the back way to the airport. The neighborhood is just normal for Puerto Rico. There are people selling fruit and veggies along the road in different places. Grocery stores, fast food, etc. are about 10 miles away

Mrs. MacDonald was extremely helpful when we arrived. We can't say enough about how patient and friendly she was...even though we had problems with our car rental, she stayed with us while we sorted that out and got us started on our vacation with a positive note. We left on a Tuesday and it was the Thursday of the next week before our cleaning deposit was returned. A document listing which remote controls what plus other information such as wifi code would be helpful so the renter doesn't have to sort it out on their own.

We will definitely consider returning in the future.

We took our family of 6 for a one week vacation at this rental the end of July this year. The owners were fantastic and the property was everything they represented! We have 4 boys aging from 4 years to 13 years. My husband and I traveled to San Juan in Sept. of 2008 and liked it so much due to the affordability, no passport required and endless things to see and do that we decided to take the whole family back less than a year later. Looking for a place to stay with 4 boys versus a romantic get-away with my husband posed many challenges. We wanted them to have the beach experience but not the crowds and hotel room accomodations. I spent hours and days researching options before deciding on this rental. The location worked great and is close to many shopping centers including a couple walmarts, which was great for stocking the kitchen with, and provided us with the ability to eat in most every meal. We took the kids to Old San Juan, the rainforest, and a late night kayaking excursion to the bio-luminescent bay. We had access to the beach and all pools 24/7 which is never an option at hotels and the kids were thrilled with it.
The only thing I would recommend for travelers staying here is to make sure you have your own car, expect travel time to be more time consuming than expected and be aware there are very few street signs anywhere so if you have a gps, use it or buy one. We printed out extensive maps and directions prior to going and still managed to get lost more than once. Needless to say we are quite familiar with most main roads and streets in the north east portion of the island! The property is truely an oasis in it's location. The area around it is run down and very poor, but we never felt uneasy or worried about safety. That was part of the experience we wanted for our children, so they can appreciate and be aware of other cultures and standards of living without jepordizing safety.
Recommendations for the owners! You were fabulous and I will recommend you to everyone I know who is considering going to Puerto Rico. With 4 boys ranging in such a wide age and interests, another tv in the 2nd and/or 3rd bedroom would have been nice, but certainly not a must have. I look forward to going again. I think my favorite part of all was sitting in your hammock watching the ocean!
