Very charming, updated cottage, perched on a wooded hillside. Sunny, bright and airy with comfortable and unique furnishings. Private deck and yard with seasonal views of Lake Kalamazoo. Great place to relax and renew. Minutes away from Oval and Douglas beaches and Saugatuck Dunes State Park by bike or car....beach umbrella provided. This cottage is very clean and well maintained. Modern kitchen and bathroom. Central air and heat. Washer and dryer. Cable tv and internet access. Available year round. Sheets (cotton), blankets and towels provided. Perfect for 1-2 couples, reunions with friends, or small families. Priced to provide a great vacation value! PAYPAL PAYMENT ACCEPTED.

Rent a canoe, charter a sailboat or tour our waterways onboard an old-fashioned sternwheeler, dinner cruiser or W.W.II amphibious 'duck' vehicle.

    Reservation deposit must be received within 7 days of making reservation. The deposit equals 30% of total rental fee, or $100 (whichever is greater).

    If reservation canceled 30 days or more before 1st day of reservation, deposit refunded minus $100.00 process fee. If reservation canceled less than 30 days from 1st day of reservation, no refund on deposit.

    Balance of rental fee plus $100 damage deposit in cash, certified check or money order due at time of check in. If reservation made less than 14 days before check-in, entire rental amount due at check-in in cash or certified funds/money order. Damage deposit returned via mail within 14 days after checkout. Weekly rentals run from Saturday to Saturday. Check-in time is 3pm ET, check-out time is 10am ET.

Best Place to stay in Saugatuck

Thank you for opening this lovely cabin to us. We spent weeks trying to find a place in Saugatuck, and were seriously disappointed at the prices--I could have rented a place in Maui for what people are charging in the middle of a Michigan winter! Ridiculous. The prices here are so reasonable, and the cottage is beautiful, exceptionally clean and quiet. James was very easy to work with. It may be a little off the beaten path, but Saugatuck is so small that we were able, even at the end of December, to walk downtown with 2 small children-no problem. We clearly didn't get beach time, but I will definitely look for availability here first the next time we come to Saugatuck, no matter what the season.

Charming, Reasonable Cottage, very close to town.

We had a great experience at Happy Hill. I agree, the pictures really don't do the inside justice. It was modern with a few eclectic & antique pieces to add interest. We were very comfortable and appreciated being able to bring our dog. The description was very accurate and it was extremely clean! We met James who we could contact if needed, but wasn't intrusive. We grilled out the first night and found most everything we needed. The other two nights we went to the Belvidere and Everday People in Douglas. The Belvidere is upscale but not out of reach. It was worth EVERY penny! Everyday People is more casual, but still excellent food! We toured the steam ship which was very interesting! I did some heavy duty shopping...lol! There were a lot of sales after the season & started my shopping for Christmas! Our dog loved the dog park which wasn't very far. She ran free in the woods @ Tails & Trails, and made some new friends! It was the price that sealed the deal! We spent a relaxing couple of days. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer! Next time!

Elegant, new home for quiet time

I recommend this place to folks looking for quiet time and space to enjoy the sunlight in a small town. Plenty surrounds to do, and I highly recommend a car or bike trip to the Saugatuck Nature Habitat Area's dune trails or a kayak in the river. My partner and I enjoyed the DVD selections and breakfast on the beautiful mid-century furnishings.

Thank you for the cozy accomodations for our fall getaway. The web site does not do justice for this nice home, to our pleasant surprise. We totally agree that Everday People Cafe isa must. Your choice of books, art and furniture makes us feel right at home.

Winter retreat

James and Rene. Thank you so much for letting us stay at this wonderful place. We couldn't imagine anywhere else we would have rather stayed. We look forward to quitting our jobs and moving up permanently! Well, or at least coming back very soon.
