About The Owner

We bought the house in Gardiner to put us in the Gardiner School District so we can send our daughter to school there. We live 30 miles north of Gardiner in the middle of the Paradise Valley on a 10,000 acre cattle ranch that has been in the family since 1866.

Last year we completely renovated the house and started renting it as a vacation rental in the summer.

The Owner purchased this house in 2003
Why The Owner chose Gardiner

Some of the favorite things about the property that people enjoy the most, is being able to walk to shops and restaurants in Gardiner. Yet when at the house, it feels 'like you are in the middle of nowhere' with the Yellowstone River rushing by the deck. Also watching animals come out into the meadow across the river in the evening was another favorite.

What makes this house unique

Being so close to Yellowstone Park (literally on the border) it makes the perfect base for your day adventures into the Park.

Just as advertised!

This is a terrific house - clean, comfortable, with all the comforts of home and everything you'd need for a relaxing stay. We were initially concerned that there was no air conditioning upon our return from Yellowstone on our first night, as we were there during a hot week. But once we opened the windows the house cooled down quickly and we realized we could just count on nature for air conditioning! The deck is lovely, and affords not only a great view, but also the incredibly relaxing sound of the rushing water as the Yellowstone River flows by. The location cannot be beat - you can walk to anything you need in town, and it is not even a mile's drive to the Roosevelt gate.

As a New Yorker accustomed to top notch pizza and other Italian food, I would not recommend Outlaw pizza. However, we really enjoyed the pulled pork and ribs at Cowboy Grille (they even have some good wines on the menu!), and also highly recommend the Corral Drive Inn just down the street for fabulous beef and buffalo burgers. We also stopped at Chico's Hot Springs for a soak and swim on our way out of town - from a NYC perspective this was a fantastic deal with day pass costing only $7.50 per person (+ $1 towel rental) and an excellent lunch at Percie's poolside grille.

If we come back to Gardiner we would rent this house again in a heartbeat. Thanks for a great stay!

Wonderful location

We rented this very nice property overlooking the Yellowstone River for the second time and again thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Most of our time was spent exploring Yellowstone NP, but mornings and evenings we were usually on the deck watching the wild life and the river passing by. The house is well equiped, comfortable, and Belinda had a very nice welcome basket waiting for us. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

My Family and I stayed in the Property for a long weekend and had an awesome time. The views from the deck into Yellowstone Park where great. We saw elk, deer, antelope and bison from the deck everyday. The location is perfect with plenty of shops, restaurants and galleries within easy walking distance. We used the house as our base camp when we traveled into Yellowstone. The house was very well kept, clean and comfortable. We have two small children and it was great for them. I would recommend this house to anyone and plan on staying again.

Nice House

My husband and I just returned from a trip to Yellowstone. We made this house our home base for the week. It was great. So very comfortable. It had everything we needed. I especially liked the deck. We could sit and watch antelopes and elk across the river. Two young mule deer came right up in the backyard and walked across the deck. We visit Yellowstone every few years and we would definitely stay here again.

A family of 4, we stayed for 4 nights and did almost all of Yellowstone from this very comfortable home. Easy to access the entire park, and then proceeded to our stay in a condo in Jackson Hole to do the Tetons.
Had to get up early every morning to just sit and admire the awesome view. The house has everything you need to begin your day with a hearty
breakfast, prepare and pack lunch and even dine in if you choose. Local
store was well stocked, and the pizza across the street was great. Do not miss driving less than an hour to Chico's Hot Springs. Dinner was
fantastic! Definetly a must....you need reservations! Would love to come back, but there are still so many more national parks to visit, and so little time!! I hope that we are as lucky with our future rentals!
