Activities: Tennis and bike rentals, batting cages, at nearby Hudson River Park, with pedestrian biking/jogging paths w/o cars that go uptown for miles; 4 season activities such as: Ice skating in Central Park or Rockefeller Center w/ Christmas tree lights pageant and all Fifth Avenue Dept stores beautifully decorated for the holidays. Several lovely waterfront parks children's playgrounds/splash pools. Old cobblestone streets with historic architecture and facades restored to 19th century elegance. Dozens of museums within minutes/art galleries, as well as fabulous Broadway shows, boutique shopping nearby. 4* restaurants all around us.
About Tribeca: Tribeca, meaning, Triangle Below Canal street, encompasses the former World Trade Center site as well as an area of lower Manhattan now home to the finest dining and shopping in the city. The apartment is walking distance to Wall Street, Soho, Greenwich Village, Chinatown, Little Italy, Battery Park (where you can take a ferry to the Statue of Liberty), City Hall and the various courthouses. Perhaps most importantly, it is also only several blocks from Century 21 shopping, Barnes and Noble, Bed Bath and Beyond as well as J & R Computer and Electronics World.
About downtown Manhattan: Greenwich Village and lower East Side for hip trendy culture. Tribeca/Soho for film festival and arts industry...many films shot on location in this area, with modern design/boutique as well as 4* restaurants. Chelsea/Meat Market...upscale restaurant, NY art gallery center and shopping area. Midtown...Metropolitan Museum of art/ Museum of Modern art/ Metropolitan Opera, Central Park. Javits Center for business and trade shows. Broadway and Off Broadway theater.
