Wonderful Property for a Family Vacation
Our entire family (Grandparents, grown children and grandchildren) enjoyed staying at the Watters Estate. The size of the house was deceiving from the outside, the inside was much larger than we expected. It was furnished with everything we could possibly need. We all loved playing pool and foosball. We took our Wii and had a blast in the exercise room dancing and playing games.
John and Patty were great. Both before and during the rental, they were easy to reach and went out of their way to help make the rental process excellent. Even Jim, the caretaker was very friendly and helpful with information about the area and available if we needed him.
We loved the lake and the dock. The fishing wasn’t the best (we think due to the hot weather), but all of us enjoyed ourselves. We took two kayaks and a small boat with a gas and an electric motor. It was fun. The lake was very private. We only saw 3 other boats the entire week. The pool was fantastic. Very large and well equipped with chairs and loungers and umbrellas. Also, the screening kept all bugs away.
The ONLY reason we gave the property a Good instead of an Excellent rating, was because of the fire ant problem in the yard. I am an amateur photographer and love taking nature photos. I could not stop for even 20 seconds to take photos without fire ants swarming over my feet and biting me. We are Florida resident, so we know about fire ants, so everyone walked very fast as we went back and forth between the house and the pool or dock to avoid being bitten. But, that was a pain to remember for the little ones. I know that they are working on trying to get this under control. If this problem is fixed, then we would definitely give the property a resounding Excellent!
We highly recommend this wonderful home and property for a family vacation. We would stay there again. We loved it!!

Owner's Response: Given the location of the property, and our sensitivity to the surrounding natural area and the lake, we have been attempting to address the fire ants without affecting the surrounding ecology. We will continue to treat throughout the summer and fall in hopes of getting this under control during these active months for fire ants. We appreciate guests reporting on their personal experience in this area, so we are able adjust or increase treatments accordingly.
