NESTLED IN THE WOODS, PRIVATE PATH TO WATER

West Yarmouth House Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 7

This house is located at the end of a cul-de-sac and nestled in the woods. The house enjoys a view of a rare coastal plains pond bounded by conservation woodlands and wooded town water recharge areas. Follow the private path from the house to Horse Pond and enjoy fresh water swimming, fishing and kayaking. This is the perfect place for young families as well as seniors. The water is shallow and clean, and the view from the deck is spectacular.

For salt water and serf, Seagull Beach is just a few miles away on back roads. After a day at the beach you may go for a quiet kayak around the pond, or anything from tennis at the public park in the adjacent neighborhood to relaxing on the wrap-around deck.

The first floor has a bedroom and full bath, a small sitting room and a large living room. The open floor plan incorporates kitchen, dining and living room all with a view of the lake. For a second smaller house to rent based on availability, see listing 3693285. This newly listed house is a few dozen steps away lakeside on this lake.

Three villages make up the 17 square mile town of Yarmouth Cape Cod: West Yarmouth, Yarmouthport, and South Yarmouth. Each village has a distinctive character formed by over 350 years of history. A community shaped by its seaside heritage, Yarmouth has retained much of historic charm while integrating the present into its surroundings. To gain a true perspective of our town you must stray from the major roadways of Route 6 and 28 that traverse from Hyannis to the West and Dennis to the East. Yarmouth is the second oldest town on Cape Cod, and it is filled with historic charm.

Yarmouth's rich history has grown a Cape Cod seaside community that offers a potpourri of activities for area vacationers. For the outdoor minded, Yarmouth boasts 15 of Cape Cod’s finest fresh and saltwater beaches to laze away the days, 4 golf courses challenging all levels, 14 tennis courts for the more active, and many hiking, and conservation trails. Yarmouth, Cape Cod truly has something for everyone. On the North Side, in Yarmouth Port, tree lined historic Route 6A hosts country inns, quaint bed & breakfasts, and numerous antique and craft shops. The Southside along Route 28 offers the hustle and bustle of a summertime resort town, from factory outlet shopping to sea lion shows to the most adventurous mini-golf.

West Yarmouth offers the visitor or resident a variety of family attractions, various lodging establishments, beaches and fine restaurants. West Yarmouth houses a recreation area with tennis courts (practically next door), an exceptional cultural center, the historic Baxter Grist Mill, a 27-hole public golf course, miniature golf, trampolines, a small children’s petting zoo, fishing piers, and close proximity to island ferries. In the summer months, ride Yarmouth’s Easy Shuttle along Route 28 to public beaches, downtown Hyannis, local shops and dining establishments. West Yarmouth offers any family or individual traveler a number of exciting things to see and do.

YARMOUTH HOUSE ON POND

  • 4 of 5
The property was clean, the person we rented from was lovely, even bringing us flowers for each room. We were close to numerous attractions and went to Seagull Beach, kayaked, visited P Town, restaurants and mini golf. We cooked every night and there was plenty of room to entertain family. We have fond memories. The only negative was a musty smell, but it had been very humid

Owner's Response: I didn't immediately understand the source of this regrettable problem, since there is typically no odor in this house. Eventually I recalled that I had shampooed the carpets the day this family arrived and, in my rush, I had forgotten to add the cleaner to the last room steam cleaned, and, with the humid weather, knew I could not go back over this area and expect it to dry. As it was, the carpets failed to dry completely anyway, although they do ordinarily. Do not expect this problem on your visit, as the lesson is learned. Carpet cleaning will be better timed and carpet cleaner added! This is a modern and very clean house and I'm terribly sorry this terrific family had the problem described. I wish I had known at the time.

We very much enjoyed our stay in your home.
Everything we could possibly need was provided,
making our stay very comfortable. We even managed
to boil our first lobsters in the lobster pot you
provided and my mother took her first trip out in your
kayak! Thanks!
