This contemporary waterfront home located on Locke Lake is the perfect family getaway. Enjoy breakfast from the wraparound upper deck while taking in the beautiful views of the lake and then get grab your fishing pole and head to the dock where you can try your hand at catching a variety of fish including Large Mouthed Bass, White Perch and Pickerel . With any luck, you'll be firing up the grill for a fish dinner! After a day of tennis, golf and swimming in the sandy bottomed lake, or even in one of the two community pools, take a nice, long, relaxing soak in the hot tub. For even more excitement, rent a boat from the nearby marina or bring your own and explore the lake for the day or take one of our kayaks out for a quick tour. If you a planning on vacationing with another family, the house next door is also available to rent (property # 146582). Please contact me far in advance if wanting both properties since the weeks tend to book up quickly.

This property is located in the Locke Lake Colony on beautiful Locke Lake in the town of Center Barnstead. It's the perfect spot for a family vacation, a romantic getaway for two, a fishing trip, snowmobiling or just to get away with some friends for the weekend. Locke Lake Colony is a year round community where homes surround the tranquil waters of Locke Lake and Half Moon Lake. The owners have kayaks at the property for their guests to use to enjoy the lake. The town of Barnstead is situated just south of the lakes region in New Hampshire and is immediately surrounded by the towns of Gilmanton, Alton, Strafford, and Pittsfield with easy access to Laconia, Rochester and Portsmouth. The city of Concord is less than an hour’s drive away as are the recreational areas of the White Mountains, Lake Winnipesaukee in Wolfeboro, the Hampton seacoast and Maine’s tourist areas. Gunstock Ski Resort is a mere 20 minute drive from the property.

Notes: Pets are allowed with owners permission. If allowed, an additional $100 refundable security deposit is required along with a non-refundable $50 pet fee. All yard waste must be cleaned up and dogs must be kept on a leash while outdoors. Pets are not allowed on the furniture. There is a 37' HDTV upstirs and a TV/DVD combo in the downstirs family room. Both of these rooms have two couches t for TV viewing.

Great Rest and Lost of Fun!!

GREAT PLACE!! The home was spotless and very well equiped, On a very nice and quite lake. (not to big that we felt very comfartable ridding in our the kyaks and Cannoe on the lake)

Our Family Consist of Myself my Wife, 2 Boys, 12 & 15 plus a 1 1/2 Year old Yellow Lab (Sidney)
Plus my mother and father came ups for a few days, With lots of room for all of us.

My wife and youngest son were very happy to stay at the home and relax while fishing, Playing in the water and reading books! While my oldest son and myself were happy to find some great mountain biking trails close by at Devils Den, Got to see Turkeys and a Bear!!
Sidney had a great time playing the lake and chassing tennis balls in the water, Plus going on the hikes and ran with us on the bike rides. (She had the best time, I could tell by her Smile!!)

Some Great Day hikes close by @ Mt. Major, A great day hike to the top of a great Vista View to be able to see over the big lake! (even thought we got stuck in a rain shower!!)

The White Mountains are close by, With a nice drive to the top of the Mt. Washington, Tallest peak in the east..
what a veiw, and dress warm for the top, It was 80 at the bottom and 38 at the top!! The boys also did a Zip Line at a ski slope at the bottom of the mountain. The drive up to the white mountains are about 1 1/2 hrs. but well worth the drive..

Went to Kittery Me. for a afternoon, That is a great place to go for some seafood, and shopping, Plus the beach is there to. Only about 1 hr away.

Also went to Gunstock (about 15 min.) Ski area, That looks like a great place to ski (we love to ski) with lots of good slopes and nice terrain, Durring the summer they have great mountian bike trail layout, Plus hores back riding!

Overall I would recomend this home to anyone who is looking for a well kept nicely furnished getawy in the mountains on a lake with lots of things to do or notthing to do but relax!!
