A five minute ride to beautiful Horseneck Beach. Two kayaks and bikes are available for use. Ideal for the sports enthusiast looking for a quiet getaway for exercise and relaxation.

Besides being a boat ramp away from the East Branch of the Westport River, the cottage is a 5 minute car ride or 20 minute bike ride from Horseneck Beach, one of the finest beaches in Massachusetts. It is also literally down the street from the Buzzards Bay Brewery, and 1 1/2 miles from the Westport Vineyards winery. Five restaurants are within a 10 minute drive.

Beautiful Westport House

If you are looking for a lovely house near the water in a quiet country setting to spend your vacation, this house is the place for you. Our family absolutely loves this house and we come back every year.
It is fully equipped with all the amenities. Beautiful kitchen and bath. Bedrooms are ample with excellent mattresses. Living areas are very comfortable with lots room for relaxing. The large deck is perfect to relax with your morning coffee and take in the beautiful view of the Westport River or an afternoon cocktail to watch the amazing sunsets.Very quiet area for birdwatching and convening with nature. Wonderful for kayaking or boating with beaches nearby. Westport has wondering full restuarants and shops in a country setting. Newport is only 45 minutes away.

Beautiful, Peaceful Vacation Retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Westport property. It is off the beaten tourist path, which was a plus for us. Our objective was to get away from it all and relax. The property was warm and inviting, very clean and modern. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. We were fortunate enough to meet them on the last day of our stay.

We didn't get a chance to use the provided kayaks and bicycles -- maybe next time, because we definitely would like to return here.

As previous reviews state, it is close to Horseneck Beach. Our activities also included wine tasting at Westport Rivers and Sakonnet Vineyards (www.coastalwinetrail.com), golfing in Newport, and overall relaxing.

Lee's Supermarket is great grocery store. I recommend shopping there for provisions. Restaurants we enjoyed: Bittersweet Farm, Bayside (5 minutes away), the snack bar at the Westport Yacht Club.

Cottage by the river

We arrived in the dark of night and the directions given by Steve brouight us directly to the cottage. The cottage was exactly as described. Waking the next morning to the river view, was a wonderful way to start our vacation. The house was very clean, comfortable and homey. Everything needed for cooking and outdoor activities was provided. The location is convient to shopping, restaurants, and recreation yet very secluded and private. We plan to rent this cottage again on our next trip to the Westport area.
