Lake Winnebago Vacation Rental cottage

The pictures and description are NOT accurate. Of the 8 pictures shown, only 2 of them (the outside photos) are of the rental property - the other 6 photos are NOT for this rental. If you're expecting a nice kitchen with wood cabinets and a clean place with wood trim as shown, you will be very disappointed.

This rental property is not clean or maintained. The outside windows had spider webs all over them and desperately need to be washed. The deck and outdoor furniture also had spider webs and were dirty. The shrubs, trees and bushes were wild & look like they had not been trimmed in quite a long time.

On the inside, there is no "comfy seating” for 6 people - although you could get 6 people in there if 2 people sat on the floor. There is no DVD player - it was VHS. We could not get a station to work on the TV. There was no firewood as promised - the owner told us to go up the road where they sold it. The kitchen had an old white refrigerator with rust all over it which was really disgusting. The bathroom had mold around the tub. The "walk out deck" from the bedroom was unsafe with handrails and boards that were loose. The queen bed had an old lumpy mattress.

The worst part was at night. The whole house was infested with gnats. When we contacted the owner he said they come right through the window screens and to turn off all of the lights in the house since they were attracted to the lights. After a half hour with the lights off and gnats all over, we called him back. He said that we should use the vacuum cleaner and try to suck them out of the air. At that piont, we packed up and left.

The owner would not give a refund, but said he would give us a credit for the next time we came up there. I'll pass on that. The pictures shown are not what you get. I would never recommend this place to anyone. This listing is very deceiving.
